Preparing for Halloween

It has long been said that Trick or Treat is an American thing but it isn't, so what country does it come from?

IIRC, Dressing up in costumes and begging for candy is an American custom, having emerged in Boston in the 1800s, but it descends from an apparently Scottish custom known as "Souling" where street urchins would be paid off with sweetbreads to pray for your family's dead ancestors the next day on All Saints Day.

But then again, Scotland, Ireland or the United States is usually the correct answer for all things Halloween, excluding the actual date.

Yeah cards on table as much as I enjoy Halloween season this half way to Halloween stuff bugs me!😂 If you start celebrating in May the actual holiday doesn’t mean as much 😮 It’s not like us horror fans don’t watch horror movies throughout the year anyway. It’s almost like some content creator came up with the half way to Halloween thing to get a bump in their views😌

The Celts believed Samhain (pronounced sow-ain) was the day in the year when the gap between our world and the spirit world was blurred, making it easier for the spirits of the dead to return.

They do that in my dad's town, and I think it's killing the vibe. Kids don't even have to go door to door anymore, but adults now have to sit in their cold car waiting for kids to show up? Nope!
