So, now Willow is going to be Giles' mentor? This is beginning to look suspiciously like the plot from an old Edgar Rice Burroughs novel. If they finally decide that what Giles needs is to get away from the studies and devote some of his time to play, so that he can young body and his old mind can reach a working balance, I'm going to start yelling "Plagiarism!"

(Edgar Rice Burroughs' "The Mastermind Of Mars," if anyone is interested)

Wow, I didn't know Nick Brendon was writing the comics with them! How cool!

Looks interesting, but not interesting enough for me to start reading the comics again. There is way too much dirty water under the bridge.

I feel for Xander here. He's made such strides, but here he finds himself back to being under the thrall of Dracula, I hope that he can find it in himself to break that thrall himself rather than being rescued. I like the idea of Dawn being the 'bad cop.' - Still not keen on Lil' Giles. Seems a bit tragic really every time he gets a telling off for some misdemeanour or another.

I know that it makes a good comedy spot here, but I still just have to point out that Vlad Tepes, the historical inspiration for Stoker's Count Dracula, was only in his mid forties when he died. This withered fossil looks more like twice that age.

Unless maybe Drac was just trying to establish some kind of personal relationship with Xander beyond the master/manservant level. (I'm assuming that this is a flashback to the period after Sunnydale, when Xander first went to Transylvania to talk to Dracula about his time with Anya, not current events)

Maybe its the price Drac pays for no going all vamp-face- even when he bites somebody?

Instead of ending up like the Master or Kakistos he ends up looking all frail-human-y when he ages.

It's just a guess, we don't really know when Buffyverse Drac was turned. Could be different from the legends or historical record.

it is one of the idiosyncratic jokes that ( is persistent to comics only) started in Antique and means absolutely nothing but the fact that comics universe rules mean absolutely nothing, because the writers team cannot be bothered. Same as Giles' soul being in multiple pieces in multiple artifacts mean absolutely nothing. Same as nu'vamps being sentient and superior, but the portals to other dimensions not being opena-ble, and still the demon spirits somehow being available, means absolutely nothing. Same as Dawn starting to fade a year after magic seed was cracked means absolutely nothing. It is just a made-up lark meant to make Dracula 'special' in a special special way , and yet make him a bit pathetic at the same time. A troll hammer that cannot be lifted by anybody but Buffy. A world with only shrimp. Japanese vampires being capable of building Mecha-Dawn in a week. Billy chatting with First Slayer. Or, to put it simple - an a**s pull plot device.
