This thread will end up being a moot point come November 12th, but I have to ask anyway...For those who caught UPN's episode tonight (11/5), the preview for next week shows a vamp who recognizes Buffy as herself, not as the slayer. The clip was fast, but did anyone else think that it looked a heck of alot like Parker?

"Believe me, I don't want to go...and it'll grieve me cause I love you so...but we both know..."

. that was the guy who had a one-nighter with Buffy back in college, right?

if parker got vamped I'd laugh. Asshole.

i couldn't tell! at first i thought he was that Ford character, but I knew it could NOT be him. It might be Parker. If so, she can stake his butt!

What about Dawn seeing her mother and Willow seeing Tara? Re-appearances from old cast members maybe? hmm...very curious!

according to the description the vampire is someone who buffy used to know; it would make it more interesting if it were a character who has appeared before.

tara isn't in the episode though

Well, from what I could see with my trusty VCR freeze frame, next week will be very dark. Joyce's body on the couch is a corpse, and she had no pupils in her eyes, just the whites...If the ghost is "Tara", it won't be Amber, so I'm assuming Willow mistakes it with something else...and as far as Parker, every spoiler I've seen stated it was someone she knows. In still frame, minus the vamp make-up, it looks like Parker's facial structure and hair (only notice cause FX is on S4 right now--my memory isn't normally that good 🙂)...but we haven't seen him since "Beer Bad". Alot can happen in 3 years, and Buffy can't stop every feeding from happening...If not Parker, who else might it be? Suggestions?

The only other thought I had was Pike, Buffy's boyfriend from the original movie...Luke Perry, anyone?

why would they bring Pike back? There has been no mention of him in the series ever. It's gotta be Parker. Buffy should enjoy this!

Parker was my first thought too....but it seemed too easy (and easy and predictable BTVS is not, usually). Plus, I thought she got her redemption in the beer episode...Parker was all appreciative and wanting her back, Buffy knocks him cold. Oh well, I just want to see if Joyce/Tara come back.

If it is Pike though...someone owes me a drink 😀

Tara sadly will not be back, Amber Benson could not make a deal with Fox. So its more likely Willow has mistaken the ghost for Tara, its rumored that it might be Cassie from 'Help'.

Also, about the Parker thing. That was my first thought, it looked like him but it also sounded like him. I notice voices alot and that sounded like Parker to me. Doubt it would be Pike because he was only ever mentioned in the movie, not the series. And wouldn't that be going a little far back in Buffy's past?

I wanted Tara to come back, and I'm really upset that she isn't. The vampire definitely isn't Parker. I didn't even think of Parker. It's some actor named Jonathan M. Woodward. I don't remember having ever seen this guy either, so I think it's somebody new that they made up.

So, I'm wondering, is it only going to be the corpse of Joyce, or is she going to say something to Dawnie?

When I saw the clip I thought there was a familiarity about the vamp when he said "BUFFY? BUFFY SUMMERS?" but I didn't think of Parker until I read the posts. That would be very awesome. I guess we'll see.

I felt the same way. Something to think about, I suppose...

A quick jaunt over to the IMDB shows that the only credit Jonathan M. Woodward has is a guest spot on "Third Watch". So maybe it isn't Parker...but if he's only going to be shown in vamp mode, it's possible they may have re-casted the role. It's rare for a recast on Buffy, but not unheard of...If anyone else has any ideas, let us know...Like I said at the top, come 11/12, this thread will be dead anway 🙂

OMG this episode is not just good. It's outstanding. It may very well rank up there with OMWF, The Body and Hush as the best episodes of all time. And even more exciting is the setup we have for the season. This is going to be the best season to date..

OK, Ripperfan et al, I finally have another idea (though I pray it's poopy Parker).

Maybe it's Scott from Sunnydale High. Remember Season 3 Faith, Hope & Trick and a couple of others, Scott has the Buffy fever and she sort of shuts him down only to be incensed at Faith's flirting with "my not-boyfriend". Then she does date him briefly.
Faith: What's up with you and Scott?... He's a muffin.
Buffy: Mmmm. Yup, Blueberry with those crunchy munchy things on top.

LOL... right there with you

OK...well...my Parker theory is shot to hell...but as stated in the episode tonight, Scott has now gone to the other side of the fence...maybe he and Larry (the jock from S2 who comes out thanks to Xander) can hook up!

I don't think Pike would show up in the series. Both sarah and joss have said that the movie has nothing to do with the series so according to the show Pike never existed. I did however enjoy the book that bought him back into the story.

Double Post: -

Oh my god scott was a vamp...as in 'Faith, hope, Trick,' scott? wow.

so who was it? I didn't get to see this week's episode because Detroit's UPN affiliate pre-empted it for Red Wings. I heard Luke Perry will be appearing this season as Pike. I heard that on a 90210 site before the season started.
