Spoiler! Preview page from #36

I'm wondering if he is FutureAngel because he seems kinda surprised to see all those city lights and yeah, he has knowledge of a lost war and a city of ruins. Can't wait for next week.

I found the dog funny too.

And a 'Power' wothout Name . . . well, we know that that can't be good.

Or perhaps this is his world restored in the future because of what he is doing now?

I got a very First Evil via Skip vibe from the dog. Not to be trusted me thinks.

Has it occurred to anyone else that the dog's statement about the "goofy little cheerleader" really spinning around might actually refer to the only character who actually WAS a cheerleader for the first 3 seasons that Angel was in Sunnydale, and who he spent far more time with for the next 4 years. Maybe the dog is actually talking about Cordy who, as employee, friend, potential but unconsummated lover, Higher Being, and inspiration for the name of his favorite dragon, had far more opportunities to "spin him around" AND undeniably contributed to his growth as a character between Seasons 1 and 4 of "Angel" than Buffy ever did?

When I read the cheerleader line I thought of Cordy first too
I had an idea; would Twilight and the universe being born again (or whatever happened happened, I dont recall) somehow tie into the Mayan belief to time stops in 2012 and the world ends?

I get so confused trying to figure out what this means. Is it a FutureAngel or AlternateAngel or CloneAngel? Because it doesn't look like the Angel we know. Plus he mentioned Wesley begging him to see a shrink. Wesley's been dead for quite some time now.

And a Power without a name, maybe it could be Whistler shape-shifting?

It may be somehow be connected to the vision Cordelia gave Angel in AtF-12:

"For Angel's eyes only. Your part in the apocalypse. The shanshu prophecy carried out right before your eyes. It it written. It is witnessed. It is inevitable."

Maybe preview pages depict Angel who gets transported back to BtVS after the events on AtF we haven't seen yet. (Given that Allie and Ryall's had a brainstorming session two weeks ago, they could connect the storylines, after all).

So, Angel's back, devastated and confused. PTB (or whoever it is) try to talk to him into working for them through dogs and birds. He doesn't agree to work for them, so they send Whistler (flashbacks in Riley one-shot). Why Whistler is more credible than a talking dog - I dunno; but he manages to convince Angel.

Then the current BtVS storyline starts: in issue 1 Twilight was watching slayers when they attacked the secret lab.

There are some more preview pages for next weeks #36 at Comic Book Resources. It gives us a little look at Angel and the beginnings of the Twilight gig:

Preview: Buffy the Vampire Slayer #36 - Comic Book Resources

(I just have to say this. Call it one last act of defiance from a loyal Spuffy)

In the last page of this preview, Angel gets told by a talking dog that he has been chosen because he is simple minded. Now we know why he wore the mask. He was ashamed to show his face.

(Okay, now I've said it. You can all go back to your serious discussion)
