Besides, she's too popular.

Heh... the Whedonverse is littered with the corpses of popular characters. Jenny, Tara, Anya, Doyle, Cordy, Spike (temporarily), Fred, Wash, Claire...

To Joss, it's the unpopular ones who aren't worth killing.

If he spares Faith, it'll be because he likes Eliza too much. He'd tell her he was going to kill Faith, and Eliza's lower lip would start to tremble, and that would be the end of that. 🙂

LOL! I hope Joss hasn't done with Faith!
Hopefully, Dawn's not dead there! I hope she's not the one who dies, but if she has to, she should die for seed-related reasons, given her magical origin, not because of a blow from a random demon!

Yes but if watched dollhouse you know that in the last episode there was a very sudden death
I'm wondering if Faith would actually go through with Giles' wishes (if these are his wishes, of course).

I think killing Buffy is one of the very last things Faith would want to do.

Of course she would do it. I havent a doubt about that. Look at the facts. She was always the 'secondary' slayer. Buffy was always better, popular etc. She was always in Buffys shadow. For Buffy to totally lose it and potentially cause a global catastrophe where only one person can save the world: Faith. You really have to wonder if she would do it? Of course she would. Look at the entire Faith arc. Look at the character of Faith. Yeah, she would do it, because it would be.. lol.. the right thing to do. Faith is and became the Slayer that Buffy could never be.

They won't kill him. They'll do something far worse than that.

I'm glad you've got my point now... I said it months ago... THEY ARE GOING TO DESTROY ANGEL... but you (and other people) told me it isn't true, that we must have faith in Joss.

And now, we have to trust him, haven't we?

Well, I'm not going to go that far. I'm worried but I don't think they could ruin Angel, least of all for me. Maybe the rest of fandom will hate him but I'm fairly certain I won't.
You know, after looking at this, I'm starting to think that Dawn WON'T die after all.

There's no way in hell they would show a major character taking a fatal blow in a preview, it looks like she's just knocked out.

The cover we've seen of Xander carrying Dawn's limp body might just be a portrayal of the aftermath of this.

It DID seem rather strange that they would realse that cover - again hinting at a character's death - months before the issue hit the stands, particularly since a lot of the covers have been censored to avoid giving away plot points.

It looks like classic mis-direction to me. Joss is rarely that obvious.

I have to disagree. Kill Buffy? I think Faith has come a long way from that. A lot of her arc is about redemption...killing Buffy out of vengeance or jealousy over issues from years back would be some serious regression. Not to mention petty, IMO. If she were to kill Buffy, it would be truly in order to save the world, not because of her issues with Buffy herself.

That said, seeing as there's a Season 9 planned, I don't think the writers would kill Buffy off (again, lol)!

But its only a half season... so maybe Faith doesnt kill her but traps her in the demon dimension.
It may also be that Giles and Faith think Buffy wouldn't be able to kill Angel (again) if she had to, and Faith would have to do it.

Agreed; I meant her killing her as the only means to save the world.

I get you. I misunderstood because in your original post you mentioned a lot of Buffy and Faith's past together. It read like you meant it would be easy for Faith to kill her because of their history.
It may also be that Giles and Faith think Buffy wouldn't be able to kill Angel (again) if she had to, and Faith would have to do it.

I really doubt Faith would *ever* consider killing Angel. Not after what he did for her.

I can NOT see Faith killing Buffy, and definitely not Angel not after all he did for her and all she did to avoid having to kill him when he was Angelus. The only way I could see Faith killing Buffy is to save the world and ONLY if ordered too by Giles and if it were the ONLY option. But not because of her own issues with Buffy. All she's ever wanted from Buffy is to be her friend, I still believe deep down that's what Faith wants. I could not ever see Faith post redemption killing Buffy. We see at the beginning of Season 8 she couldn't do it.

Never said she would WANT to kill her; but just like Buffy ran Angel through with the sword, she did what was right and what was needed... Faith would do the same.

Right, so you CAN see Faith killing Buffy. That's my point. I deffo can see Faith killing Buffy.

Only under those circumstances and she would be extremely reluctant. She wouldn't want to kill her.
Now that I see it, I hope Dawn's not dead. A death like that is pretty useless. I like The Master's hilarity like..My Face? ahahahah. I fear for Angel...things really do not look good for him.

My interest in season 8 has grown and shrank from time to time...but...for the people who say they'd never spoil something like a character death months in advance, didn't we find out Angel was Twilight through a cover release?

Yes, but wasn't that an accidental release?

Yup. And a huge scandal too, lol. I love how it's referred to as "Twilight-gate", hehe.
All cards on the table, I officially have no clue where I stand anymore. I half feel sympathetic towards Angel and half want Buffy to stake his ass already.
