So we know that Spike will be back next season, but he looks badly injured, which explains why he's not on the Jeanty cover of #40. I don't get his comment, though "Ah, Christ it's finally happening...Angel gets the girl."

Giles' "many unlikely alliances" comments again, right next to Xander's panel. I'll say it again that I think Xander is a likely betrayer, teaming up with the General. Dawn's not dead at any rate.
 
my first thought was oh my damn to the
slayer getting cut in half in the first panel.

who's the slayer fighting with the scythe? faith? kennedy?

and the panel of xander saying "we're not guna win this." gave me chills
 
I broke my strict "no spoilers" rule. I'm disappointed in myself but excited for this. It looks like it's going to be exciting to say the least.

Faith- didn't she have the scythe last issue?
I'm glad I'm not the only one who has a hard time telling them apart in the comics. 😉

Also, the spangel shippers are going to love one of the panels in this issue lol

Aw, the "I had the cosmic vengeance thing coming" line made me sad. 🙁 I still heart you, Buffy!

ooh, and I was confused about the "Angel gets the girl" comment. it's probably just Spike being his usual sardonic self. I'm hoping, at least!

Anyone think that Giles might also be part of the betrayal? He's kept a lot of info from them before with the whole Twilight prophecy thing, and now there's the repeat "unlikely alliances" panel. And the Jeanty cover of #39 suggests that he'll be pretty active in this fight...
 
I took the "Angel gets the girl" line to be kind of ironic observation that Angel was getting the girl, not in a romantic sense but rather, in a 'beating the crap out of her' kind of way

This issue certainly looks action packed!

No, see, from that comment I took it he was teaming up with the Master.. he was he didnt think the Master was any worse than Dracula and he and Drac have their little thing. I think he teams up with the Master. Especially the 'unlikely alliance' thing just before the comment.
 
You don't know how much I'm becoming paranoid about the comics. I always fear that something will happen that's gonna kill me, that I will really hate the comics (more than now), hate Joss, hate the characters. I'm always scared something might ruin "Buffy" completely. So I'm hopping for good.

Well technically, they are aligned with The Master. He wants to protect the Seed and that is exactly what they are doing. However, Xander can see that they are going to lose following this plan. We get the flash of what Giles said emphasizing that aligning with The Master is not necessarily the best idea but it is also suggesting that the alliance that (we presume) Xander is considering with the General, isn't exactly fool proof either.

Yeah, they tied him up because while they are both trying to protect The Seed they trust him as far as Andrew could throw.

No. Bound or not, The Masters main priority is protecting the Seed. They bound him to basically keep an eye on him. The General told Xander that if the Seed is broken it stops all the crazy that is going on around them. That's what Xander is (possibily) off to do: break the seed.

Problem with that is that a) General isn't anymore trustworthy than The Master and b) no idea what the consequences of breaking the seed is apart from the fact that it ends magic. What that would mean to the world is anyone's guess. I'm thinking not good though.

So basically, it's damned if you and damned if you don't.

Looks like Xander or Giles are the betrayers.... I´m not sure i want to read issue 39.

Spike is not immune to sunlight and nothing seems wrong with him. He is just Spike. I like. *yeahaaaaaaaa* Sorry 🙂

Now the bad parts. Angel was/is once again just a puppet and wasn´t/isn´t responsible for all the horrible things he is going to do/had done. How convenient for him. I´m sick of it. 😡

I want the season to be over and a fresh start without all the twilight crap and pissed off universes. Why is the universe a winged big fat Lion? Why is Angelus needed when Angel was doing the universes bidding by himself? I got 1000 questions but i don´t think season 8 will explain everything.

My guess is the big bad retreats or hasn´t showed up yet.

Ps: I really miss the old graveyard patrols and the monster of the week. 🙁
