I've been having this problem since Monday night when i rep someone instead of the box coming up just over the comment a new page appears with the rep box. I can rep someone like that but I'm not sure why its changed! i haven't changed any of my settings!
Also on people's profiles and my own the little tabs at the top have gone like the interests and statistics tab. This happened Monday night as well its not stopping me using the board or posting its just an annoyance! Which i'd like to put right! 🙂

My best bet would be a browser, or security ap such as Norton has taken to managing java scripts in an irritating way. In fact if you use Norton that's usually the best place to start.

Hopefully somebody else has encountered a problem similar to yours and has a fix. If not you might have to hit Google. Start doing searches matching the terms "script", whatever security ap you use and the best term to generally describe your problem. (eg. Norton script control problem). If that doesn't work use your browsers name in place of the security ap.

Noooooooooooo.... not norton. As a PC repair engineer i beg of you not norton.
Hmm not sure why that would be happening, i've used the rep feature on Firefox, Opera and IE and had no issues.

You are using the little icon with the scales yes?

Yes,like always.
Are you sure you're not middle clicking it? or holding the button that turns left clicks into middle clicks?

Stuck in Traffic had a problem similar to yours awhile back. She fixed it by setting her Norton back to defaults. Here's the old thread.

Oh, and pardon me, it's Ajax, not Java Script that manages the rep thing. Still...Norton...that's the first culprit to check out with any problem like that with either. There's this other thing Norton does sometimes where you can't see sigs.

Simultaneous posting!
That's happened to me before (I use IE, but it was on my old computer, not sure what version I had). Anyway, it was Norton causing the problem. I finally just uninstalled it and everything was just peachy!

Edit:
n4h is right, at the time I changed my settings back to default, but I kept having problems with all kinds of stuff. Got fed up and uninstalled it. Best thing I ever did, trust me!

This sounds like more than anything an internet problem. Try Google Chrome.

Google Chrome - Download a new browser

Out of all the browsers ive used (and trust me, ive used a LOT), this is easily the quickest and most reliable. Ill give you an example... if you have a bad java script in either Firefox or MS Iexplorer, the entire program will crash. No matter how many different tabs or windows you have open. If you use chrome, each tab and window is isolated into its own process. If you come accross a bad script (website) then that aspect closes and you still keep all your information. Of course this is just one aspect. Speed... IE< Firefox < Chrome. Seriously, nothing beats chrome.

As for recommendations about virus programs. I beg of you dont go with Norton or McAfee... the amount of computers i have fixed solely contributed to these two programs is mind boggling. Check out AVG free and never look back.

The only thing I don't like about Chrome is you have to load it to your startup to get it to work. I didn't let it, and that was it for me and Chrome. But yeah, there's lots of raves from those who don't mind Google in their startup, who have decided to use it.

Eh, I think Google's getting too big for their pants, but that's just me. I didn't get along with Chrome, either.

Thanks guys for your suggestions 🙂
Only problem is I'm not sure how to get my Virus software back to default, we have been having problems with it lately I'm using McAfee.
I've also re-installed my fireworks and the problems still there. *sign*

I guess you could simply close McAfee and then see if the problem is fixed. Just remember to turn it back on once you've tested it!
