PS4 vs Xbox One

It's not too long till the battle of the boxes!

Is anyone planning to get a PS4 or Xbox One? Or both?
 
I'll get the Xbox one.

My Xbox broke a few days ago (pretty convenient time Microsoft!) and I use my xbox for everything, I haven't used it for gaming in over a year but I use it as my media hub.

I stayed away from games in my final year of college and haven't gotten around to start playing again, but been meaning to.
 
Sadly, I think both console kind of lost their grips. All that really attracts me about the new consols is the the really good graphics, but that isn't enough for me to by a 800$ system. I've always preferred microsof over PlayStation, but I really dislike some of the stuff about the xbox one. I know they fixed some of the issue (not sharing games, really microsof?), but I'm still not impressed with their product.

Bottom line, I won't be buying either of those consoles, I'll stick to Nintendo thank you! My brother will probably get the xbox one though, so I'll definitely try it.

Also, can I just add that there really are not enough exclusives for each consoles (from what I saw at e3 anyway, I might be wrong.) to make one much better over the other, sadly, both consoles are going to be pretty much the exact same, for at least the first year.
 
I think i'm heading back over to the Sony side....either way i'm not rushing to get any console especially since I barely play games but the PS4 is looking like the right choice

I've used my PS3 as a media hub for years now, I don't use my TV as a conventional TV - Netflix is used a lot, but I also stream music from it since it's wired up to an amp. Literally use it every day. The bad thing about using the Xbox for that is you have to pay to use Netflix and any streaming app on it. Why pay for the internet twice?
 
I'm planning on getting the PS4. I've been holding out on GTA V and will hold out on Batman: Arkham Origins specifically so I can get it on the PS4 when it comes out.

I completely agree, they should allow Netflix on their free subscription, it's shameless money grabbing.

I use the Kinect and stuff on my xbox, and I like what xbox are doing with their tech developments, stuff like windows 'Play to' feature (right click on a file and select play on Xbox and it plays straight away) and stuff like SmartGlass (xbox control from iPhone/iPad), so I like Xbox overall, but there are a few instances were they do try and screw you over.
(Had they not dropped a load of their "Restrictions" for XboxOne, the console would have been a joke)

That's fair enough, I knew there had to be some reason to choose Xbox even though it's more costly. I have a PS3 out of habit, as I always had PlayStation consoles, but it can be a big clunky bitch at times. I prefer the not being ripped off option too much though. 😀
 
I got the PS4 on release day in the UK (Friday) and have to say I'm very impressed. When I started to set it up, there was a few hitches, couldn't sign into PSN etc, couldn't sign into EA, servers down etc, so it took about 30 mins to get going. After that though everything has been smooth. The graphics in the games are excellent,especially Battlefield 4. There's a few glitches in the game that need working out, but overall I'm very impressed.
