Anyone here ever seen the Pumpkinhead movies?

SciFi channel just released the 3rd and 4th installment. The 3rd was horrible, in my opinion, and the 4th one was actually pretty good.

I wonder why these movies haven't become cult classics yet.

The first pumpkinhead came out in 1989, I think.

It's a vengeance demon that's summoned to get revence. In the first movie, a man's son is accidently killed by a group of teenagers. The father goes to visit a witch who summons pumpkinhead to kill them. Pumpkin head is in the picture above.

THe second movie, blood wings came out in the 90s. And the third and fourth just came out this year. The first three are rentable except the one that just premiered last night.

I've started watching the first one on Sci Fi Channel a couple of times, a few years back. I never get past the point where the dad finds the kid and goes to the person for the spell or whatever he goes for...

The movies are kind of slow, I'll give you that. I'm just a big fan of horror in general. I think they're better than Friday the 13th though.

I didn't necessarily stop watching them because they were slow. One time I changed it because a show I wanted to see came on elsewhere, and another I just had to leave...lol.

I like horror, most of it, anyway, but I hate most of the cheesy ones they play on Sci Fi.

I do like the concept of Pumpkinhead, though. If we hadn't gotten rid of our satellite I'd try to catch it some time.

Are you kidding? Friday the Thirteenth, well minus the last like 4, was GREAT! So Manhatten, "Jason Goes to Hell" and "Jason X" were all a bit of a stretch (okay, a VERY BIG stretch), the first ones were good.

sk8er- I love all the classics, but Friday The 13th is just... I don't know something about it makes me just not not care. lol.

randy - well the 4th one is on again on thursday at 9pm on scifi if u want to see it.

The one I can't stand is Nightmare on Elm street. And as Drew Barrymore said in SCREAM "The first one was good, but the rest sucked."

A Nightmare on Elm Street is much more interesting simply because it adds a supernatural twist to the typical slasher movie...

And I love ALL three Scream movies, to me that rule doesn't apply to that franchise. 🙂

I love the Nightmares! I guess they were more interesting because of the supernatural aspect.

I love the Scream trilogy as well. I thought the second movie was the worst. There are talks about the 4th movie. Supposedly Neve said she'd do a fourth one only if Sidney was in a mental institute. The idea has been pitched for well over a year now, but I doubt it's actually going to happen.

The only way I would watch it is if they kept the same people in it. Unlike I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, though I do give props to Brooke Nevin, because I love her, but in order to do a sequel, you pretty much need the same people from the first movies in it, you know?

True, true. At least I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer gave hints to the last two movies. At least it's somewhat of a continuation. I just didn't like how the fisherman
is not a zombie or whatever it was.
The original draft for the movie, I read, was meant to have something in it that said Ray and Julie were dead, but Karla was supposed to be alive and have a cameo. Another version forcused on Julie and Ray. In that version Julie and Karla both die. I can't believe they chose the one with new people. I guess the only reason they didn't do the latter was because Jennifer Love is somewhat popular now.
