News Q&A With Georges Jeanty: Take 2

I'm giving everyone fair warning. There WILL be spoilers in this thread regarding Season 8 and the identity of Twilight. If you're avoiding spoilers and don't want to know, please stop reading now.





Alright, so, we've had some shocking news recently regarding Twilight's identity, and as soon as the shock wore off, I was straight in with the email.

Anyone who read the last Q&A Session we had with Georges will remember that he told us to contact him when the secret was out, and while I'm sure this leak wasn't exactly what he had in mind, I took him at his word and asked him if he would be interested in another Q&A session with us, to which he readily agreed.

However, he did have a few stipulations.

For obvious reasons Georges won't be able to talk too much about future issues, and what it means for Buffy and the team now that we know who's behind Twilight's mask, but he's very conscious about pleasing the fans and he will try his best to answer all the questions put to him, but he has asked me to use 'my discretion as a fan and an adult', whatever that means, lol, to point out anything I think he can't answer, and give you guys time to come up with something else.

So, with that in mind, ask away!! You guys have about a week to ask anything you think is relevant, before I send the questions off to Georges. So have at it!! 😀

Georges, how far in advance has season eight been plotted? Is it all written in stone or has Joss included some wriggle room for the other writers?

You've said a few times that over the course of this project you have become a fan of the Buffyverse yourself. How did you as a fan react to Twilight's identity? Without giving anything away, do you think what happens after that is something fans will enjoy?

You said in our last interview with you that you hadn't seen the show before you started the comics, so when you found out that Twilight would be Angel did you realize how big of a shock it was gonna be, where you expecting the response it got?

Also last time Lyri asked you outright who Twilight was and you said it was Edward, we're you trying to sneak us a clue, because they both have big hair? ? ? - Your answer to this question could cause Buffy fans to reread and discuss everything you ever have said/will say, just to let you know 😉

Is the kinda Celtic like font used for Twilight's voice, something to do with Angels Irish heritage?

Your cover for Felica Days The Guild comic was awesome, You drew Vi on the Alternate cover for Time of Your Life pt.1. Is there a different approach to drawing two different characters who are played by the same actress?

We've been told that Angel being Twilight isn't the most important part of all this, is it harder keeping that secret now that it has been revealed and the fans are jumping all over who it is, not what the motives are?

Im not gonna ask what the motives are (as I assume you wont tell us 🙂) but is there anyway we could find even a slight possibility of what they are from rereading the comics, or rewatching the series? - Or is this just gonna come out of nowhere and blow us out of the water?

Would you say this is your first big controversy, the reveal of Twilight. When it hit the web it just seemed to explode. Had you ever experienced anything like it, did you follow any of it online and see what people are saying?

Has day to day life changed since you started the Buffy comic, you've become a very important part of the Buffyverse now, did you have any idea it was going to be this big? Whats it like to think back that you were handpicked by Joss, since he has a gift at surrounding himself with incredible people?

Have you met any of the other 'Whedonelite' - Felica Day (I assume you have!), Neil Patrick Harris, any of the Buffy cast?

How come Twilight doesn't sound anything like Angel or Angelus when he talks? (excepting of course the "itchy neck" incident and the "your name will come to me" from the last issue... which could really be a tone that could apply to any character in the Buffyverse.)

Any hints for what's to come for Buffy and her friends?

As a fan yourself, who did you prefer Buffy with; Angel or Spike? Do you think she'll end up with either of them in the long run?

Will Spike be making an appearance in S8? You've never drawn him before. If so, are you looking forward to drawing his character?

Will Faith take a backseat (like Xander and Giles) in the remaining issues or will she still be a core character in the Twilight storyline?

Oh and are there any plans regarding Dawn. Its probably just me but I never felt her role as the key was concluded so could there possibly be some stuff coming up regarding that maybe in season 9?
