We just saw the latest installation of the James Bond franchise tonight, and I just have to say that it was a very spectacular movie filled with car chases, fights, and all of the typical 007 fare. More, in fact, than any of its predecessors. The only thing missing was James Bond.
Daniel Craig plays Bond in a completely different way than any other actor has done so far, and I guess that might not be such a bad thing, but it still disconcerts me to see 007 portrayed in such a comparatively crude manner as opposed to the sophisticated vodka martini sipping gentleman secret agent that I have grown to love over the last 40 plus years. That may be progress to some folks, but, to me, it's just not as good as the established character.
But, all in all, it's a good, exciting action movie, full of action, and I can enjoy it as such, and even recommend it to fans of such movies. I just wish "Bond...James Bond," had been in there somewhere.

I agree WA. The only thing I didn't like about the movie was the way it jumped about like a troupe of Mexican wrestlers.

I'm with you...the sauve, debonair Bond is gone. He's been replaced by an action here. Nothing against Mr. Craig, and I liked the movie, but I miss the old Bond!
