I recently decided to invest in a season 2 DVD collection and have just finished watching this episode for the first time in several years. Here's one detail I don't quite get.

When Angel kills Jenny he dumps her body in Giles' bed. I don't seem to recall any occassion in either season 1 or 2 when Angel is seen in Giles house, so when exactly was he invited in?

It must've been an offscreen thing like when Cordy didn't know Angel was a vampire in "Halloween" and by "The Dark Age," she has no reaction to his vampire-ness.

Thats a VERY good observation Ethaniel! Never noticed that! Well done lol!
It could be an off-screen thing, or maybe there was a time he was invited, but I cant remember lol! OR, the writers made a mistake! No ones perfect! lol! Look at me!

I think the writers made a mistake, but since it could've happened off screen, it's not something unforgivable.

Maybe... um... remember in that one episode with Ethan when that demon was coming after him? Maybe when Willow made the idea she had Angel come over to Giles's place... ::blinks:: you got me.

There is some episode were Giles is speaking on the phone to someone. This is without the audience or Buffy knowing who. The identity of this person is later revealed to be Angel. Therefore it is likely they have had dealings of screen.

Probably an off screen thing b/c in season 4 in that thanksgiving ep Angel was in Giles's house

even if it was a mistake the episode wouldnt have been as good if he hadnt left her body there so it can be forgiven, i thought that was one of teh best episodes so...its ok

I agree, however, I do have another question about the episode: When Jenny sees Angel in the computer lab she's shocked to see him in the school, even asks how he got in, when she's seen him inside the school several times before.

Just another bothersome tidbit.

I disagree,

Go back and watch Passions again. This time, pay attention to the part, after Angel kills Jenny, and before Giles finds her. Giles stops by to pick up the book that willow and buffy had borrowed, to create the barrier spell. He then comments on how he needs to use it on his own house. It obviously happens offscreen, but they definately cover that ground. : )

Jenny's Death Call

I remember in season 2 when Jenn died, Giles called Buffy at her house. We never really know for sure what went on during that phone call. But I was looking over "The Watchers Guide" before and it said what they said. I'll post it incase anyone is interested.

Willow: "So was it horrible?" (referring to "The Talk" between Buffy and her mom)
Buffy: "It wasn't too horible." [phone rings] "Hello?"
Giles (on the phone): "Buffy?"
Buffy: "Giles! Hey, we finished the spe--"
Giles (on the phone): "Jenny... Ms. Calendar... she's been killed."
Buffy: "What...?"
Giles (on the phone): "It was Angel."
[Buffy drops the phone]
Willow: "Buffy?" [She picks up the phone] "Giles?"
Giles (on the phone): "Willow. Angel's killed Jenny."
Willow: "What? No... oh... no..."
Joyce: "Willow! My God, Buffy! What's wrong? Has something happened?"

Does anyone remember how Angel got into Giles's place anyway? I don't remember an episode seeing him there.

Thanks for the info. And they never showed Angel in there, it was meant to a surprise with the flowers and all.

No. I meant, if Angel had never been in Giles apartment before, how did he get in without an invitation?

He had all that time to sit there and set everything up and draw a nice oil painting of her too, huh? Wish I could do that.

But wait, he needed an invitation back in in season 3. So, i'm guessing Giles recursed his place again?
