Question about 2x17: Passion

If we did hear the dialogue I don't think it would be of been so upsetting, the way it was done was at it's best. I really like that scene!

Giles (on the phone): "Willow. Angel's killed Jenny."

Can one shorten has to 's? Maybe it's me, but I don't think so. Makes me wonder whether this was really the line Joss wrote, but eventually got cut out.

Making a contraction from a proper noun and "has" is technically incorrect grammer, but it is a very common method of speaking. So shortening Angel has to Angel's is perfectly legit and also something that might very well have been written by Joss, or in this case by the Passion episode writer, Ty King.

This is what it says:

From the original teleplay:

During the sequence just after Jenny is killed, we hear Angel in voice-over while we watch through the window of Buffy's home as the phone rings and she and Willow learn of Jenny's death. What follows is the dialogue the viewer can't hear.

then follows the dialogue i posted.

I am glad the dialogue was cut, because it is not strong at all, it is all so simple and normal, nothing shines out of it.

yeah, it's much more powerful to just watch it thru the window w/angel. We already knew what happened.
