Ok I always thought that by tuning into a show I was helping the ratings. But I just read on another board that your rating only counts if you have a nelson box (I think thats what they are called). I live in the UK and I have NEVER seen one of these. Is this true?

There is this company called Nielsen. A volunteer family hooks a box to their TV and they click a button whenever they watch TV. They give the box to the company and the company does some complicated math and they figure out how many people watch each show.

yea a certain amount of people have these boxes and they take a average amoung the people who do, they then average those with the entire poulation of teh countries that have buffy, so if 14 out of 50 peopel watch it who have teh box, then 14 out of fifty equals X many out of the entire poulation, its just an average using ratios, so in reality they ratings could be totally off.....if this even makes any sesne to anyone except me.....ill just say ITS AN AVERAGE!
