What is up with Doyle's ex's fiance?? He was the guy that played the villian in the Buffy episode 'Anne'. And um...Buffy definetly killed that guy lol so why is he playing another demon in this Angel episode that takes place over a year later?? I'm confused...

The other actors they reused were not obviously the same actors. This guy was obvious because I mean hello, they used his normal face. The others were different demons & we didn't see their normal faces. I just didn't think Joss would let something that obvious happen.

Agreed 100%.
Knox's normal face was shown on Buffy as Holden. Just sayin'!

I have not seen all of Angel yet so I have not seen Knox so crucify me for that too while you're at it. If I had, I would've mentioned it.

He's not cruxifying you, he pointed out that you were wrong.

He was just stating some info relevant to the thread. Take a deep breath...and exhale. ;)
I guess they used him so obviously again because its on Angel. I like when we see actors playing 2 different roles. Wonder if anyone played 3 buffyverse characters? My favorite ones were Saijahn was the Phases werewolf hunter and Rack was Kralik from Helpless.

Woah, I never known about Rack and Kralik before. :D
I don't know why people feel the need to be mean when someone points something out... But yeah, I agree that it was kinda crazy to use that same actor again. God knows there are enough actors out there that they don't have to reuse the same ones, but whatever... I don't like the actor (he reminded me of a pedophile that used to live near us), so I wished they would have used someone else. And who the hell would dump Doyle for that nasty-ass dude? Ew. 🙁

I don't like the actor either. He originally auditioned for Wash on Firefly. I'm so glad Alan Tudyk got it instead.

Hadn't seen your post yet when I did mine. I was trying to respond to the OP

His ex didn't dump Doyle for him, she dumped him before she meet him.
It was very distracting for me to see Woodward play Holden on Buffy 7 and then a year later play Knox. I know they are different shows but it's the same universe. Same thing with Anne/Bachelor Party.

I'm just very glad that Joss never got different actors to play the same character like they do on some shows. Like reprising a role like Faith or Riley with a different actor because of actors not being available. That just ruins a show for me.

Agree to a 100%
Friendly Lurker disagrees: This isn't a useless thread but YOURS is a useless post. 😛

anyone else? Come on! You can all say the exact same thing if you try! My point is, a thread comes up every month or so pointing out actors who have multiple roles. I guess im alone in seeing it as a big deal.

Nah, I'm with you on this. Except for characters that MIGHT be the same (like Halfrek and Cecily in the Spike flashbacks; or this Sandy girl evil Willow bit in Doppelgangland that later turned up as a vampire with the same name), it's pretty clear that they were just reusing good actors.

Oh, and by the way, wasn't the human face of that guy in Anne not his real face anyway? It was only glued on, right? So there's your explanation, he secretly copied the real guy's face and voilà , same looks.

Not sure that was what Silum meant though but who am I to try and read minds.

But to the point in reusing actors. I can understand that they want to use actors they like working with again but when shows are that related as Buffy and Angel are and the characters look the same it just feel weird/bad. But when it comes to different shows all together it's not their problem if you don't like it. As having Nathan on both Buffy and Firefly. Those shows has nothing to do with each other when it comes to the story itself. Not like a crossover between Buffy and Firefly was ever gonna happen. So it does annoy me but I can in some ways understand it. Oh and it wasn't that difficult to see that it was the same guy playing Luke and The judge even with that make-up. 😉

A longshot but that could be it.

And Silum, you might not think that you're doing anything wrong but your post(s) often seems to be seen at by others as rude. How you want to deal with that fact is up to you. There's obvioulsy more ways than one. Today you're obviously not in the best mood (I'm sorry about your grans death) so if you want to discuss this part further it might not hurt to wait a while for everyone's good. And most likely not in a thread like this since that most likely will lead to the thread being closed.

As for the same topic being brought up time and time again that can be annoying, that I agree on. Point out that is has been discussed before isn't wrong but to call it useless? Some words just seem worse to some people even if they don't to you. Link to an old thread (I was linkcrazy for a while 😉), suggest that the person uses the search engine or do as EB often does and just deal with the fact that the show is old and the same stuff will be discussed over and over again.

Obviously, the poster hadn't seen those threads, so there's no need to be rude. Annoying or not, it wasn't done to annoy.

I'm pretty sure that Cecily is Halfrek and that vamp Willow turned the girl in Doublegangland who later bit Riley.

And you're explanation for the guy in Anne is great! We Buffy-fans are really good at fanwanking by now. 🙂

I never realized the whole Sandy thing! I thought she looked familiar when she was flirting with Riley, but now I see it. Cool! Thanks for pointing that out. 😀

I guess I worded that wrong... I know she didn't dump Doyle FOR him, but my wonder is why would someone go from someone who's as cute as Doyle to someone who's as fug as that dude. LOL

Obviously I dont think actors playing multiple roles is a 'big deal'.

Silum makes a sarcastic comment and he gets ripped to shreds, Revolver makes a sarcastic comment 4 minutes later and people humour him.

*coughs* cliques *coughs*

Sorry, I had something in my throat!

I felt like giving neg rep to Silum because of the post, nothing to do with a clique. I don't think I've ever even spoken to Revolver.

i made fun of him 'being confused'. I said it might be 'because hes watching TV, not real life'. Shocking stuff!

There's a difference between being sarcastic and being plain rude.

Its not like i can be accused of being in a clique. But the 'useless' comment was just a straight insult. He trying to say it was a joke because it got made a big deal of.
Re:

Seems these days you can cut the tension in this place with a knife. Just in this thread alone I've seen one member attacked for very simply sharing some info, and another member being labeled as "sad" for stating an opinion. Is all this really necessary? True it's not always the easiest thing in the world to determine a persons "tone" in a thread but sheesh! These threads were made so that a variety of people can state their opinion, right? And given the fact that we have all types and ages of members here, most opinions are going to differ. I've been a member of these boards since 2001 and I've never seen this much hostility.
And to keep this on track, Joss liked to reuse characters on both BTVS and ATS. Boreanez himself played more roles than just one. I don't think it took away from either series in any way. True, it kinda rings some bells when the face pops up again, but no big really. The shows were still exceptional.

BillyIdolWannaB agrees:

The post was meant to read 'I guess im alone not seeing it as a big deal.'. As in, reusing actors is not a big deal to me... But my point was this is a regular topic, whether it be Andrew, Knox, or Gavin.

To everyone else who apparently disagrees with me in this thread 😛 I certainly wasnt saying anything personal or mean, just that this is a strange question. "Why is this guy suddenly over there, he used to be that guy"...well, yea, cause its a TV show, its hard for me to not be sarcastic on that one...but I AM sorry if I offended anyone.
