The first is "Eternal & Omnipresent" right?
First Evil - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is everywhere at once, in every impulse of sin right? so how come when the scoobies planned their master plan to create all of the slayers, it didn't already have a heads up, and have them killed first?
and how come it didn't know andrew had a wire on before he began acting strangely? How come it didn't warn caleb that Angel was coming to help Buffy, and about to knock him over?
Get my point? If anyone could explain, it would be a big clearing for my head lol.

This is the way I see the First.

It is an entity connected to all the Evil on this earth.
However, it cannot be cognisant of everything at the same time.

Now, granted I would have assumed that it would have kept tabs on the Slayer and her Allies a bit more, but it must have limitations.

It is a puzzler. We don't really know exactly how much the First knows about a point in time and space, because they never exactly tell us.

There is that part where Eve quotes what Buffy was saying to Wood on the porch, and there's the trap that's set for Faith and the Potentials based on what the Bringer told them. Does the First know everything that's happening as it's happening, or does it know everything any dead person, or it's manifestation knows? And what is the range of cognizance of one of it's manifestations in physical space?

In Bring on the Night they introduce the concept of telepathy. How much of the major planning might have been done in the background that way beyond The First's notice?

Maybe I've spent a little too much time thinking about the first, but there's a few things that strike me as strange that it didn't do.

Why not take the shape of Angel (or Angelus) to really ruffle a few feathers, especially Buffy's? Seems like an obvious choice considering the effect he had on the gang in the past (good and bad). It would have required a guest appearance, but would only have been a single scene probably.

As it had the power to only be visible to those it chose to reveal itself to, why didn't it choose nobody at all and evesdrop on the scooby gang to get the inside scoop (especially after Buffy got the scythe)?

As far as I could work out, the only things it "knows" are the memories of the dead, and anything it can find out from the living by questioning them (otherwise what was the point of appearing to taunt them into giving up info?).

There is more stuff that didn't quite make sense but I'll have to think about it :lmao:

Maybe it's because the plan to make all the Potentials into Slayers wasn't evil. I also think that the First can appear anywhere, to anyone, at any time. I also think that it can split itself into several parts. However, I don't think that it's everywhere at once.

the first is the 1st true evil but its not psycic he doesnt see the future only whats happening at the time

Wasn't it Joss who implied that things like that happen when you live on a hellmouth

How's this for a theory? The First Evil was overcome after an epic battle at the dawn of time and imprisoned in the hellmouth by the forces of good (The First Good?), along with its army of Turok Han. Because of its nature, its influence could never be contained, only its physical presence (hence its inability to appear in corporeal form). By destroying the Turok Han, Buffy and her crew further weakened it, perhaps to the point that its earthly cult of servants, the Bringers, are also either destroyed or greatly weakened.

Somewhere in Season 7, it was stated that the First Evil could never be truly destroyed, so the only thing Buffy could do was to further contain it by destroying its army and collapsing the hellmouth so that it can never be reopened. (Of course, what no one realized is that when Robin Wood died in the school bus, a fragment of the First Evil's essence was able to enter and reanimate his body, in the same way as a demon possesses a human body when a vampire is created, and there it lurks to this day, just waiting to renew its plans for world domination.)

Huh ?
The first evil was overcome after an epic battle at the dawn of time ?????
How did Dawn get in there ?
You also stated that the first evil or a little bit of it is present in Robin Wood, damn. I never thought that the First or Robin Wood were Australians, they're in for the world domination thing.
'course the other way of looking at it is Robin Wood and the First being into dominatrix.
