how come the master left bones and kakistos didn't? both were very old and past beyond human features

true. and the Master is way older that Kakistos, one asumes. how comes the Masters hands weren't cloven and Kakistos' was?

well joss explained that, that really old vampires take features of animals but not necesarily the same animal, kakistos had the cloven thing and the master had the bat nose

yup
thats what i was gonna say
plus the whole thing with one leaving bones and one not, the master had far more power and had other stufff that cause it
or we could just chalk it up as being yet another giant plot gap

The Master was much more than 600 years old, we dont know how old he is, but it was stated that he was more than 600. The Master was given bat like qualities, whilst Kakistos was given pig like features. It was obvious Katistos was much younger than the Master, he had hair!
However there has been lots of questions of why he left bones behind, it might be a plot hole, or just that he was dusted when he had all of his power regained, or maybe becuase he drank the blood of a slayer, made him stronger in some sense. But the story line for the beggining of season 2 would have been boring if he hadnt left behind the bones.

Well, in the Buffy XBox game, they plan to resurrect the Master from his essence. To tell you the truth, the storyline was actually kind of a better idea.

About that game, I thought it was cool that you were able to go around the whole mansion. Now I know where the training room is.

me too, i was nearly swayed to buying an xbox over my ps2, so glad i didnt after the lack of quality on the xbox. Buffy for PS2!
