Watching this last night....this is the first one where we learn the invitation rule and we've seen how it works in later episodes.

So my question is this...Buffy didn't invite The Three into her home when they were chasing her and Angel, so how could one of them stick their hands past the door frame?

I don't know how many times I watched this ep but this was the first time I actually noticed that.

Anyone got any ideas?
 
Maybe it's just that they can't physically enter the house, but it doesn't apply to reaching in when their bodies are outside? No idea lol
 
Probably just an overshadowed/overlooked thing.

I always wondere how Angel scored an invite...but then after rewatched, heard Buffy say to him "Come in" or something like that.
 
I always wondered about that myself. You see one of the three stick his arm through the doorway and then Angel tells Buffy that a vampire needs an invite. I never understood how that happened, unless it was simply an oversight by the writer/producers.

As with many things during Season 1, I think it was a case of Joss and the writers trying to work out the bugs of the mythology and how certain things would work and look.

I don't think that Joss forgot that vampires need an invitation, but it was more of the vampire trying to grab Buffy and pull her out before it was too late.
 
Wan't it at the end of season 1 that a new continuity person was employed ?.
