Question...do you think your buffy boards persona matches your "real life" persona?

I'm not entirely sure how to phrase this but it's something I've been thinking about for a while...I personally feel as if I come off as being really sweet or something on here haha I have no clue if that's what people think but my whole "persona" feels very.."cutesy". The name Fredikins, for example. I just thought about it recently and I was like "wait I think that people see me as being very...bubbly and happy...wtf" because most people in real life consider me to be very aloof, sarcastic, and pissed off 😉. When I first joined BB I decided to lay off the sarcasm because it doesn't always translate well online and I didn't want to unintentionally piss anyone off...so yeah, Fredikins was born. I really like Fred and I think the name is adorable and I am a huge sap in real life, so maybe my BB persona is actually my real...persona? I don't even know what the hell I'm trying to say.

tl;dr do you think that your persona or how you come off on here portrays your "real life self" accurately? I know a lot of people online are sometimes a lot more...outgoing on here because it's easier and stuff...I think I'm actually slightly more shy on here if that makes sense...ha.

I was on another board (until it folded) where a bunch of us met up at one time. It seemed like everyone there was exactly like their persona. I doubt anyone would see any difference between me in real life and me online.

Oh, persona - like do i seem or try to seem different - okay, we can see that seem smart is not an option. I am so honest as to be considered socially challenged. My filter has large holes. 😱

I knew I wasn't the only one who was asking myself this question. Looking back over some of my old posts I come off as rather aloof and introverted (or do I, maybe you guys can fill me in). Compare that to real life -- I'm actually pretty Xander-like, but with a bit of an excitable streak. 😀

Certain aspects of my real persona can be seen in my posts, but there are also some differences too. Think I try to be a bit more understated or am shy more in person before you get to know me.

I don't really know how my posts or BB persona reads. I'm sure I just sound tired and drained all the time. But I'd say I act much like my RL self when I'm online. I don't use the anonymity of being a faceless online user as a way to act differently, although I can understand why some would and do. If anything, I'd rather people knew exactly who I was - even if I was dick.

Edit: no dick jokes, pls. Also, I do hope I'm not actually a dick online or IRL.

I really hope that I come off the same way on the internet as I do in real life. But it's hard to tell, I don't really know what people's opinions are of me. But surely everything I say on the boards are things I would also say in real life. The only difference if probably that I swear more in real life, and I probably use sarcasm more. Sometimes I'm weary of being too sarcastic on a board since it doesn't always come across as sarcasm.

I think when it comes to opinions etc. I would be the same either way, but I guess on somewhere like here I have more room and time to express them. There are always things you would do differently, but they are subtle things in my case.

@Mr. Pole Here's your French grammar lesson.

When speaking to a female (and/or a feminine objects, because in French things are either female or male 😛), you have to use the feminine pronouns. "Mon" is the masculine for a "my", while "ma" is the feminine pronoun of "my". Because you are using the feminine, you also have to add an "e" at the end of chéri. Meaning you would write ''ma chérie''.

Haha I feel the exact same way. I curse a lot more and I'm sarcastic 24/7 in real life..."Fredikins me" is me...minus those things 😉
