That time when she said Oh, okay then, and went to bite the guys neck?

It was a bit of a turnabout. because usually in such situations it would be the woman who was the victim.

Moreso was the shock value as none of the cast were told Julie would appear on set in her role of the vampire Darla before she appeared without her vampire makeup on.

First watch in 1997? Shock. Totally did not see that coming. Thought Darla was the hot blonde who was about to get killed. Figured the guy would make it out.

Oooohhh, Whedon-Greenwalt are VERY sly.

I'd rented the first disc of the dvds from the rental store when I saw the first ep. I was glad for it as it made me think that I hadn't thrown my money away as I feared. And though it was season 1, I got to like the show fast. (But it was season 2 before I was hooked.)

I was hooked by that scene.

It started the subversion of the usual dynamic. I love that about Buffy the series and Buffy the character.

Precisely that the "blonde chick" kicks arse and has the killer moves.

I love Buffy... But in that moment i wanted to cheer when the predator got eaten. Darla was perfect. #JulieBenzRocks!

I watched Becoming during the original run, and Welcome during syndication. So I knew who Darla was. Still, a good scene.

It was the comment about the little blonde girl walking down the lane being the reasoning for the show, yet at the start of the show the little blonde girl WAS the monster !
Could it be there is another story there, can you say reboot?
