Is getting drunk in your room by yourself on a school night alcoholism or just self-destructive behaviour?

Not that I know anyone who would do such a thing. :drink:

If it was a one time deal I'd say no...but if it happens on a regular occurence, then you may have a problem.

In my opinion it is definitely a little of both. The real question becomes whether it happens often or just once in a blue moon. If it is happening often then it is something that needs to be treated by your doctor. On the other hand, I can't say that I never got home from school or work and had more than a few drinks.

I think that if it has only happened once it isn't something to be worried about, however if it has happened more often I think help needs to be found.

If it's a one time thing (like people have said) it's not a problem. If not then it's a little of both depending on the reasons for doing it. If it is done to get over some bad feelings then it is a bad thing and whoever is doing it should steer clear of it. 🙂

Well, I guess it's a little self destructive... but hey, everything is destruction, it's just a matter of acceptable levels. It's all about why you'd do it: To unwind - y'know, chill out and watch some some TV, or hurt your playstation - or because you just feel the need to get staggering blind drunk.

Re:

Now I'm probably beating a dead horse, but if this happens alot- you might be an alcoholic. Now if your putting irish creme in your coffee every morning on your way to work- DEFINATELY have a problem there. :coffee: But if your doing it occasionally when your drinking buddies have prior engagements and you feel like letting loose- not a biggie.

This thread shouldn't exist.

At least now I know I'll die young and remain beautiful, like those great 19th century poets. Yay

Agreed. And if you find you tell everyone your best friends are Johnnie Walker, Jack Daniels and Jim Beam...well, then I think an intervention is called for...😉

I would only mention the second name. In fact, there's alot of JD in my body right now. :drink: Hehe, drunk again. At least, it's a friday and I did go to a friend's birthday I-don't-know-how-to-name-it thing. Still, it's the same.

I'm not going to feel extremely well in the morning, but at least there's no pain right now.
