hey guys i have a question about the first. okay, now i was remebering a conversation that caleb and the first wee having (don't know the eppy or i would quote it) but the first was posing as buffy and i think, not sure thoug, but she told calib to look at her and asked him what he saw. Now, i think he said that she was the slayer. At the time i was thinking that the first was buffy but now i am thinking, was the first evil really the first slayer? Forgive me if this has been asked an i sound like an ass.

I believe, but don't quote me on this, the first was the first Evil, 'the thing that gave Evil it's capital E' as willow said in chaos bleeds. The reason it was able to pose as Buffy was because it could morph into anyone who is dead. Or who has died. And because buffy has indeed died before it was able to pose as her. Hope that helps. It's a sketchy theory though so sorry if any of it is wrong. 😀

Are you talking about this passage from Dirty Girls?

BUFFY/FIRST
How do you like what I'm wearing?

CALEB
Just another dirty girl. And, since you only dress up in dead folk, I'm guessing, one who's already been paid her wage.

BUFFY/FIRST
Look hard. What do you see?

CALEB
(checks out the First's form) Strength. And the loneliness that comes with real strength.

BUFFY/FIRST
Nothing about my pert and bouncy hairdo?

CALEB
You're her.

BUFFY/FIRST
The slayer.

CALEB
(reaches toward her) At long last. (tries to touch her face, but his hand goes through her head) All this time. All the work I've done for you... Blowing up the Council, organizing the Ray Charles Brigade, and stickin' all them splits"”you never showed me.

BUFFY/FIRST
Well, you've earned it. And you'll be meeting her soon. Am I right?

If so I'm thinking you might be getting it mixed up with another passage from the same episode where Caleb is talking to Shannon in the Cab of his truck. This one:

CALEB
Oh yeah. That's it! That's a cleansing fire. Hallelujah! Now, if I'm not mistaken, there's a car a little ways behind us, and I do believe there's some folk in it goin' the same place you are. Now, I want you to deliver a message for me, but it's not for them. It's for the other one"”the one and only, the original, accept-no-substitutes slayer. Would you tell her something for me?

Yep, listen to n4h! He knows all. But what I think you've got mixed up is the line

Caleb: You're her!
The First/Buffy: The slayer

The First means that it has taken on the form of the Slayer (Buffy) for Caleb, not that the First actually IS the Slayer. Although...since the First is in everyone, even the Slayer (who can't possibly be completely good, since she's human) I guess you could say, in a way that the First is everyone, and by extention, the Slayer.

Ok, now I'm just being more confusing.

Okay I get that the first can turn into dead people (buffy, warren, joyce, etc) but what I mean is,, okay. I hope I can get my point across without confusing you.
Okay, I mean the very first slayer ever made, it is possible that she could have been "the first evil" that buffy and her friends were fighting in season 7?

Theories are fun. I was reading one at Whedonesque the other day where someone saying Amy was maybe The First.

I don't know though, The First Slayer as the First Evil, I think that might be hard to find support for.

The First Slayer does appear in Season 7. In Get it done she's in a Buffy dream where she tumbles down the stairs wrestling with Buffy and tells the Slayer "It's not enough".

Assuming the First Slayer is somehow able to contact this reality from wherever she is, why would she want to? What's in it for her if the watchers, Faith and the potentials die, Spike is corrupted, Buffy is brought over to her side, and the scythe is activated?

What's the disruption in the slayer line Beljoxa's Eye speaks of? Is that how the First Slayer is unleashed? How does an all-knowing entity like Beljoxa's eye get the First Slayer mixed up with the First evil? Is the First Slayer working through the First Evil somehow?

What were calling The First Evil does tell Caleb it wants to be made corporeal. Is that the first slayer's game plan too?

The Shadowmen and the Guardian talk about the last guardian of the hellmouth, and the final battle. What's that all about? Are the Shadowmen in league with the First Slayer?

Oh wait, I just thought of a good one. At the end of Lessons the big bads talk about going back to the beginning.

I had always thought Amy was the First... at first lol but then she could touch things... like Willow/Warren... and she was slapped... Plus I saw and interview with the actress and she said she was happy she never died, because "Amy" is still out there somewhere, and that's a great thing to leave behind...

Heh, I also thought Amy was the first. I'm glad she wasn't cause she's one of my favorite characters...
The First Evil was or is the spirit of evil within all beings. This was explained in "Bring on the Night" by Joyce in Buffy's dream.

This is true LL. Sometimes people enjoy creating these theories where maybe some other character was either in some way masquerading as the First, or in some way associated with it behind the scenes.

I'm guessing that's what Nicole is doing.

something ive never thought of before but maybe the first slayer has something against the world. in my opinion, as motives go, shes got a pretty good one for working with the first. these shadow men made her part demon obviously against her will, hence the chains and stuff. then made her fight demons til she died. a lot earlier than she probably would have. if thats not motive, i dont know what is. that is if she was helping.
but to be honest, we never really got to find out what the firsts grand plan was. get rid of all the slayers. then what?
