I have a question. what every happened to Whistler? it was never really explained and I would love to see him come back. Any ideas???

I've always wondered that as well. I suppose the Powers that Be used him to set certain events in motion and then he went his own way.
in the comic book "blade (vampire hunting vampire)", whistler is the same name of the guy who makes a lot of vamp killing weapons and the one who raised blade (also has a soul).
i always wondered if the name usage was supposed to be the same one, or just a coincidence. if it is supposed to be the same one, i assumed he went on his way to raise blade and stuff. it could have been, since he was young on buffy, but really old in the blade comics.
but if it was just a coicidence, i have no idea what could have happened, he seemed like a "vampire watcher".

I'm pretty sure Whistler was supposed to be on Angel in the first Season, but due to the actor's scheduling problems (or some other similar reason), he could not commit to the show and instead they created Doyle. As for where the character is now, well, I suppose you could say he's probably out in the world helping other "lost souls" rejoin the "good side" like he did for Angel at one point.🙂

Yeah, Whistler was intended for Angel, rather than Doyle and I have read the original script that Joss and David wrote with Whistler in it. It is very interesting though if Whistler would have ever died on the show, or if visions would have been around. More importantly, if Whistler didn't die, would Wesley still ahve been added to the cast? If no, the show would be COMPLETELY different.
