A: I tend to re-watch my favorite episodes, the ones i know are funniest. If there are funny moments with-in an episode that make me laugh, i will just watch that scene.

A: It is usually to fill time. There is very little on television that interests me these days, so i tend to watch episodes when there is nothing good on.

A: Just fan forums, like Buffy Boards 🙂

A: Sometimes books or magazines.

A: No. I think box-sets allow more people to become interested, in shows that went unnoticed or that may have had a cult following. So people have similar tastes now.

A: Probably doesn't apply to me, since i don't think i stand out. But i like the fact that people have similar tastes now. I think snobbery that goes with tv,movie,music is a little pathetic. The whole "you're not cool, because you dont watch or listen to this" thing. Don't like that.

A: Maybe, but more behind the scenes, like writing some of the shows.

A: They are becoming increasingly cheaper, so it's a good way to catch up on shows you may have missed, or ones that you enjoyed so much, that you want to see them again.

Social Occasions sometimes factor in I like introducing friends to shows and then whenever they are over we watch that specific show, Time filler is another factor when i am bored I just decide what I feel like and pop something in, homework is another one because then I like to pop something in I have already seen so that I can do my homework but have background noise, then the last factor would be the season I like to watch specific episodes depending on the season. I watch all the fally episodes in the fall etc.

I never set out to "collect" box sets as such - it just sort of happened. I was in France last year for a year abroad as part of my uni degree, and I was without internet in my halls of residence, and of course no regular TV - so I got into the habit of buying TV show boxsets to have something to watch. And now I'm back in the UK I've just carried on doing that XD

Random episodes once in a while. BUT I do prefer to see the whole show, and I recently started watching Buffy with a friend (who hadn't seen it before) and then of course we started at the beginning, and that is how I prefer to do it, I just usually don't do that alone.
Six Feet Under and Twin Peaks though, I always watch season by season, hardly ever random episodes.

No, not unless the the series keeps my interest and sticks to its mission statement/ core. As long as that happens, I keep buying. Or, if the series has been good so far and has some longevity I might spot it the benefit of the doubt and buy a few seasons in without being up to date on whats currently happening. (for instance I asked for Buffy season seven for Christmas without seeing all of six.)
