Questions about Vamps in General.

a) How do they smoke if they don't breathe? (Spike, mainly)
b) How do they be intimate if they have no blood flow? (Angel/Spike)

The second question is kind of explicit but, y'know, I'm curious. Am I just over thinking things? Or... like what am I missing here?​
 
Those are some GREAT questions! I'd love to hear answers... I'm not exactly sure myself, but I know we have lots more smart people on here lol
 
Smoking: They don't needto breath but I guess they could if they wanted to.
I don't know about the later one because to have a "man reaction" as Topher puts it you need blood flow.

The fact that vampires don't NEED to breathe in order to stay alive, or, in their case, animate, doesn't mean that they can't breathe, despite Angel's comment in Season 1 about "having no breath." In order to operate, the vocal cords require air flow, and vampires talk, therefore they fill their lungs with air and expel it when speaking (or smoking) Also, remember that breathing in an involuntary reflex, so there is no reason to believe that vampires wouldn't continue to breathe just out of habit.

As for question 2, the explanation is quite simple. Elementary, in fact. Unfortunately, it requires going into details that would most likely offend some people here on the boards. So, in deference to those people, let us just say,

How do vampires make love?

Great, if Buffy is any judge.

ha ha ha ha that made me chuckle!
I think you have to really take it as you see it and not think about it too much. It's just part of the storyline, if you didn't have these sexual factors then it would make the storyline boring. Its all a part of the myth and magic that is the Buffyverse. 😀
 
They probably get their blood flow when they drink. The blood in their victim's body is passed into theirs.

Oh, and that's probably why vampires go insane when they don't get their blood. The brain needs blood.

Okay, at the request of several VERY curious people, here's the cleaned up version of one of the two most likely processes:

We can all know and accept the principal that a vampire does, in fact, have blood flow of some sort, otherwise they couldn't bleed. Accepting that, it would be rather simple to assume that, by flexing their abdominal muscles, they would be able to force that blood, under pressure, into a certain portion of their body located near those abdominal muscles (think of squeezing a partially inflated balloon, forcing all of the air into a particular area) Now, think back over all of the times that Spike's "washboard abs" were mentioned. Any more explanation needed?

As for method number two, (which works quite well on humans and vampires alike) let's just say that it requires a cooperative partner and a certain amount of generated vacuum. Beyond that, it's up to your own imagination.
