Quit making the comics

The only problems I've had with the comics are the bits that, in my opinion, don't flow well from the show cannon. Frey for instance is thrown in with not much introduction because as comic readers we're expected to know her. I however have ONLY read season 8 and AtF buffy comics so I'd really like an introducton to Frey like they would have done on BTVS if they'd introduced her there.

I think that JOss did it this way so those who are not familiar with Fray would be like... "A future slayer!!!!! WOW. I need more!!!!"...and would hopefully go and get the comic to feed their cravings.

Actually Fray is sort of canon since S7. The Scythe appeared in Fray before it did in S7, so it's obvious the show was heading to Fray.

Yep. In fact, Joss's main motive behind Season 8 was to fix all the plot-holes that arose from connecting Buffy to Fray in Season 7 (like how Fray's future is back to "one girl in all the world", despite Buffy's empowerment spell).

*laughs* Well said, dear! I want there to be more of Fray, too. And damn, I want Spike to pop up again. I'm not going to read them if there isn't any improvement to Buffy's character. And I desperately want my Tillow and Xanya reunion (and, of course, Spuffy. Knowing Joss, he's going to make it incredibly angsty 😛).

The comics are doing a great job. We aren't getting the show back anyway. Comic Buffy is better than no Buffy. I just wish they made an animated series.

*laughs* I don't like the BTVS comics at all, but I do want to say that I think the Angel: ATF and Spike: ATF ones are nothings short of amazing.

cant beat the show. i mean, the comic is good, but it aint like the show where it can be expressed as easily. how many issues of season 8 is there going to be? cuz im thinking its gonna be a very long season at this rate! and if the comics are that expensive, try ebay! i won a first edition of the long way home on there, its the one thats all crammed together on the story, not just issue one. and i think i only paid 4 quid at the most for it, it was in mint condition aswell!!

I agree with the sentiment that the comics need to go die in a lonely hole. I think they taint the show, and even though I gave up after 5 issues (therefore not qualified to judge any since then), I just don't know what the hell Joss is thinking...

Well said! It wasn't the whole Batsu thing that turned me off, it was that from early on, it was already really bad.
