1. Dumbledore is the wise, old wizard who heads Hogwarts Academy in the Harry Potter series.

2. To Serve Man is a cookbook is a line from a classic episode of the old black and white Twilight Zone series.

Aliens land on earth offering friendship to the people of earth. They follow a guidebook titled "To Serve Man". The line Dawn quotes is the last line of the story (pretty much)

3. Montressor is I believe the narrator of the Edgar Allen Poe story A Cask of Amondilato. I hope I'm right about that. I forget exactly what the story is about. If I remember correctly a man is drugged from a bottle of wine and walled into a false wall in the basement. Trapped in there he becomes riddled with guilt for past sins and begins to hear things.

4. Vaclev Pavel was I believe the president of Czechoslovakia. Pippin--I have to confess I don't know, but I did read the synopsis once on line.

5. The White mask with the black cowl and black cloth shoulder covering is from the film Scream 2. Sarah Michelle Gellar was in it.

6. The three mystery/suspense/thriller movies SMG has been in are Oh Heavenly Dog, I Know What you did last summer, and Scream 2. What the heck...I'll also accept Scooby Doo.

7. The reference refers to the Alien in the pantry scene from the movie Signs. M. Night Shayamalan directed. He also directed the Sixth Sense.

8. How do you play Kevin Bacon? I've never played it, but I've heard of it. I believe the full name of the game is 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon. As I recall it's something like the games you guys play on this board. You start with the Kevin Bacon. The next player gives the name of another actor who was in a movie with Kevin Bacon. The next player gives the name of an actor who was in a movie with the previous actor, and so on.

9. Timothy Dalton plays James Bond in License to Kill (1989). In it James Bond becomes a Rogue Agent going after a drug kingpin after his best friend is killed.

The Brocollis were at one time the producers of the Bond Series.

Let's see. I did each question in my head, then checked the answers. I got these numbers right: 1, 4 (the Pippin part), 5, 6 7, 8, (I only knew number 9 because somebody posted what it meant on the boards somewhere), 10 (only knew Beneath You --> Tremors). So, I basically got 5 1/2ish. Not too bad considering how well-rounded I'm not.🙂

PS. This was a good idea nerd4hire; I really liked it.
 
Here go my answers, probably not that many though 😛

1. Dumbledore is the school headmaster wizard guy from Harry Potter.

2. I have definitely seen this somewhere, but I can't recall it.

3. Montressor is from an Edgar Allen Poe story. Been a very long time since I read them, but I think it was from 'The Cask of Amontillado', in which Montressor is the one who tells how to take the ultimate revenge. He gets his victim drunk in his wine cellar and leads him into a small dark opening in the wall, after which he walls him in there alive. The ultimate revenge should be taken by making sure your victim knows that he is being taken revenge on, by whom he is being taken revenge on, and why he is being taken revenge on. Also, he must not be able to take back revenge.

4. Don't know either one.

5. Had to check the episode for this one - the mask is from Scream. Sarah Michelle Gellar played in one I think, though I have no idea on which one.

6. Scream, I know what you did last summer, Cruel Intentions.

7. Not a clue, I'm afraid.

8. You try to find an actor who is as many degrees away from Kevin Bacon as possible. Basically if you've been in a movie with Kevin Bacon, that's one degree. If you've been in a movie with someone who's been in a movie with Kevin Bacon, that's two degrees. If you've been in a movie with someone who's been in a movie with someone who was in a movie with Kevin Bacon, that's three degrees. And so on.

9. Timothy Dalton went rogue in License to Kill, the Broccoli's are the producers of the James Bond-movies.

10. I think they line up as this:

The TTT reference is a bit vague, though there are a few points which match up somewhat (Buffy throwing out the First Evil who was discouraging the SIT's - Gandalf throwing out Grima who was discouraging Theoden).

By my counting you both seem to get 7 out of 10. (Am I counting wrong?) On partial answers I add up the average and if it goes over 1/2 I give a point.

Pretty impressive if you ask me. I made these as tough as I could.

5X5 can you tell me exactly what Pippin is about. As I recall it's something like
Pippin (Charlemagne's son) goes through life seeking personal fulfillment

Leshy do you think your answer on the two towers thing makes more sense than mine?

Personally I think
the gnarl's resemblance to Golem
is pretty much a standout.
 
Leshy did way better than me, IMO. I wasn't counting some answers because I only got parts of them right.

Anyway, my school put on a production of Pippin about a year or two ago. I can hardly remember what it was about; nearly fell asleep through it. Basically, yes, you have the right idea.
Pippin is Charlemagne's son. He wants to become king, so he kills his dad. Things go wrong for him, and he learns about war, love, and politics. And the narrator is the Leading Player or something. You basically had the right idea of the play. I just remember bits and pieces of the play because a couple of my friends were playing in it.😛

Well, as I have never seen the correct answer movie, I couldn't really tell, but:

The few resemblances I found between those episodes and the Two Towers:

Grà­ma Wormtongue discouraging Theoden vs. the First Evil discouraging the SIT's

Saruman, Sauron's strongest 'puppet' for the first time openly attacks Rohan and is defeated in an 'ambush' at Helm's Deep when Gandalf arrives with Erkenbrand. Who had been defeaten by Saruman's army several days before in the Battle at the Fords of the Isen.
vs.
the Ubervamp, the First Evil's most powerful servant, for the first time openly attacks the Scoobies/SIT's and is defeaten in an 'ambush' at the Construction Site when Buffy arrives. Who had been defeaten by the Ubervamp several days before in the Battle Outside 😛

Buffy's speech about going to war vs. the start of the war for Middle-Earth.

Those are the ones I can think of off-hand.
