Grease will live on forever, she was such a fantastic singer and it's hard to believe she's gone 🙁

Such was her worldwide appeal that both sites are right for our remembrance of her.

This is very sad news. And the fact that she suffered from cancer for so long. I hope she is at peace now.

We really are losing a lot of famous people lately! I suppose it is partly due to the high temperatures, as older and already sick people have more trouble regulating their body temps. Olivia was an idol of mine as a kid, after seeing her in Grease and Xanadu. I stopped being able to keep up with her when she went into aerobics videos, though. 😰

RIP to a true icon. A sad loss to the entertainment world. A great performer and just impossible to dislike even for Grease cynics.

@Bop Well I find it overrated even though I understand its appeal.

Xanadu looks wild I need to watch that in her memory

It was! Cute love story, groovy disco music, with some Greek mythology thrown in. And Olivia goes around on skates, just 'cause. Wild indeed. I'm going to watch it again myself.

This is a tragedy for Australian music, a week after the demise of another British-born Aussie, Judith Durham, lead singer of The Seekers. There seems to be a constant parade of celebrities losing their lives these days. As Oz said about the school newspaper in Earshot, "I just go straight to the obits".
