john ritter was cool...he seemed like real person...

but that 8 simple rules show was sort of a filtered copy of married with children...

you got

Al- Ritter...the protective fathers...

Peg- Anti Peg...same actress..but if they made her a lazy ass then it would be too obvious

kelly- dumb blonde chick....way too easy

bud-short daughter....smart person...

~ remembering john ~ "abc" tuesday sept 16th ~

::female:: Thought those of us in The States and Canada might want to know the following.

At 8 pm e.s.t. on Tuesday September 16th ... "ABC" will be running a "Remembering John Ritter" in the place of the first year season finale of "8 Simple Rules ..."

I imagine it will be a good piece as "Three's Company" was also shown on "ABC" ... so there should be a good range of footage available.

I know I will be watching.

i feel sad that a artist of such a wide range is gone at such a young age. i hope his family can find some form of comfort in that he died doing a job he loved and that he was and is a great preformer (as clifford the big red dog , jack tripper ,ted and more...) he left a happy mark in the world and he will be missed.
 
anyone else feel bad about hating his character ted? and has anyone from buffy released a statement?
 
::female:: I have been searching for a statement from "Mutant Enemy" in regards to John Ritter but I have yet to come across one.

I am hoping that a season five episode of "Angel" will be dedicated to John's memory.

ABC to Continue '8 Simple Rules ...'

ABC has decided to continue producing new episodes of the sitcom 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter, in the aftermath of the sudden death last week of the show's star, John Ritter, according to John Consoli.

It would be the first time that a network has continued a show following the death of a main star.

The network, beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 23, will air on consecutive weeks three episodes that were filmed prior to Ritter's death in the sitcom's regular 8 p.m. time period.

The show will then go on indefinite hiatus while the network and the show's producers decide how to continue.

During that time, the network will air repeat episodes from this past season.

"Our first instinct was that we should retire the show, but the more we talked about it, and the more we saw the impact of his death on not only our family but on families across the country, we felt there was another way to go," said Susan Lyne, ABC entertainment president.

Ritter's co-star, Katy Segal, is expected to play a greater role.

When I watched the "Remebering John Ritter special Tuesday night ... Diane Sawyer announced that John/Paul Hennessy's death would be dealt with in a one hour episode.

I think it is a terrible idea to continue the series.

John's wife Amy Yasbeck apparently is pushing for "8 Simple Rules ..." to keep going ... which I find a bit weird to be honest.

There will be some kind of tribute to John Ritter at "The Emmy" awards ... his family will be there ... there is talk of a "Three's Company" reunion ... I wonder if one of his family members will actually speak ...

rene, I thought it wasn't confirmed yet whether they would replace him, or play out John's character as though the character died too??
 
::female:: I guess everyone knows by now that they have decided to let tv take a cue from reality ... so the family on "8 Simple Rules ..." will be facing the tragic loss of their husband/father.

I read that this is what Amy Yasbeck and the rest of John Ritter's family wants ... I just can't imagine the show without John. 🙁

John Ritter was a great actor with superb emotional range and an excellent sense of comic timing, love to you and your family John. May your afterlife be as rewarding as this one.
