R.I.P. Michael Crichton

that is sad! 🙁
you just the friggin BEARer(haha!) of bad news lately.

Bit of a bummer.

Damn it.... I don't think he was on our Celebrity Death Pool list at work either. No cakes this week then.

(It does always make me cheery when there is a death. Solzhenitsyn dies, 'cream cakes!' Paul Newman 'custard doughnuts'..... wonder what we would have had for him?)

Serious Timeline karma, that is one of my favorite books of all time!!! The movie was crap though
I know most people remember Crichton as the writer of Jurassic Park, and other tales, but to me he'll always be the defender of science against the cognitive dissonance of single issue fanatics, and its corruption by the agendas of others who threaten to destroy its credibility. (Check out This Video Interview to see what I mean).

His death is a great loss to the proponents of real science. They lost a champion of their cause.

Yep, he's also the guy who created ER!

I liked Micheal Crichton, jurassic park and prey were great. R.I.P

Man that sucks.

The guy spent 15 years working on E.R, the longest running hospital drama ever, and won't get to see the final episode air.

May he R.I.P

~ “The greatest challenge facing mankind is the challenge of distinguishing reality from fantasy, truth from propaganda. Perceiving the truth has always been a challenge to mankind, but in the information age (or as I think of it, the disinformation age) it takes on a special urgency and importance. We must daily decide whether the threats we face are real, whether the solutions we are offered will do any good, whether the problems we’re told exist are in fact real problems, or non-problems. Every one of us has a sense of the world, and we all know that this sense is in part given to us by what other people and society tell us; in part generated by our emotional state, which we project outward; and in part by our genuine perceptions of reality. In short, our struggle to determine what is true is the struggle to decide which of our perceptions are genuine, and which are false because they are handed down, or sold to us, or generated by our own hopes and fears.” ~
