BBC NEWS | UK | Boyzone star Stephen Gately dies

The Boyzone singer Stephen Gately, 33, has been found dead while on holiday in Majorca.

The group's tour website said that he had "tragically died" and that the rest of the band would be flying out to Majorca on Sunday.

The website also said Gately had been on holiday with his long-term partner Andy Cowles when he died on Saturday.
 
I had no idea about this until I went on Facebook this morning and saw people's status updates. I was so shocked!

It's so sad, he was so young.

Rest in Peace.
 
Yeah I just read about this. Kind of random news but yeah, very sad since he was so young.
The celebrity apocalypse continues eh?
 
I was very shocked to hear this, this morning when my mum told me. I used to be a big Boyzone fan when I was about 7 or so so to hear Stephen Gately has died was a big shock. It makes it worse when they say tragically as well.
 
Apparently he died in his sleep after a night out, but they haven't said what the cause of death was yet. RIP 🙁
 
OMG, Boyzone! I used to listen to them when I was a kid. That's such sad news, and he died so young. 🙁
