R.I.P. Tara

I was upset aswell but Tara made Dark Willow ! Just say if Tara didn't die, we will never seen the bad ass wicca 🙂

Possibly, but I think those dark powers were always inside of her,and eventualy they would have come out. She was getting hooked on magic long before Tara died.

and then Tara made it to come out the dark magics
Her death was horrific and poor Dawn! It's the death that keeps on giving 🙁, I seriously couldn't care less about what Willow did to Warren.

i love tragedy. and what tragedy worse than the death of tara in that precise moment? hail to the writers.

I had it spoiled for me, so that got the surprise factor out, but not the total awfulness of it. It was a stroke of brilliance by the writers, but so sad to watch.

The most touching moment for me is that Willow was still grieving even in the heart of her Dark-deal...
"The only thing Willow was ever good for- the only thing I had going for me- were those moments- just moments- when Tara would look at me and I was wonderful. And now that'll never happen again."

hail to the writer's indeed.
i had never really liked the Tara character much, BUT...
she was the healing that Willow needed after Oz was torn away. (i mean, really, nobody wants to see Willow cry.)
so, Tara's death was a cruel, but inevitable and totally necessary development in the Buffyverse as it gave ample reason for Willow to go mad, BUT...
it's impact was overly increased by being surrounded by all the doom and gloom of season 6.
for example, if Joss had allowed Xander and Anya to marry, Tara's death, while still grief-worthy, might not have seemed so much like Joss trying to flush our hearts down the toilet!

Dawns reaction to taras death was unbearable to watch. Tara was like her big sister. She even looked after dawn when spike and buffy were well...getting to know eachother better and when willow and amy were in the bronze using their magicks to mess with reality.

Dawns reaction to taras death was unbearable to watch.

I wouldn't say it was unbearable, but it definitely was heartbreaking. I remember seeing that scene the first time around... When the camera pans around and you see Dawn sitting huddled up against the wall, my heart felt like it was crumbling and I sobbed like a baby. 🙁

Tara's death is upsetting, but for me it also provokes annoyance at the writers. I would have liked to see them actually work things out, and I think this is where Joss started to overdo his "relationships, especially happy ones, must end in death" idea. Oh, what's this? A couple getting a happy ending? Not on this show! Die!

I agree, Tara was just coming out of it shell and not being as shy as she was.
I also think they just killed her off quickly.
After she died it was all about Willow seeking vengeance.
It took all the attention away from Tara!

I wasn't a big fan of Tara, but it did piss me off that her reunion with Willow lasted all of about 15 minutes. It's like they brought her back just to kill her. And I don't know whose reaction was more heartbreaking -- Dawn's or Willow's. Michelle and Aly are both world-champion bawlers. The only actor I've seen who can even compare to either of them is Holly Marie Combs.

And I totally agree with the poster who said Giles, Tara, and Spike are the best singers. Spike's pitch gets a little off on the "moves," but he has an awesome sound.

Yeah, same here. At the end of the day dawnie is a child and the most innocent out of the whole group. On top of being a teenager she has to go through all of the extra baggage of being the sister of a slayer, like being attacked/targeted by vampires/demons and seeing family members and friends like joyce and tara dying before her.

I do, for the record, think that tara will return in season nine or ten perhaps. I don't think shes gone forever. Joyce on the other hand, i think she has a very small chance of returning. I think i would prefer it that way...she had a human death, she died of an aneurysm, not of being bitten by a vampire or mauled by a demon. Humans unforetunately don't come back from the dead so yeah, joyce is better off dead than alive imho.

Both womens deaths were very tragic and premature for me...

My current biggest grievance still til this day with the show is Joss' decision to kill off Tara. She didn't deserve to go out the way she did and it breaks my heart every time I watch it. I can even admit I even shed tears when I see her die and once again when Dawn refuses to leave her side. Saddest moment in the entire 'verse IMO.

Whedon needs to rectify this travesty by bringing her back to life. Joss already mentioned possibly bringing her back to life back when the series finale was being filmed but complications arose and it didn't happen. At some point in the comics, Tara must come back to life or I'll be sad forever over the loss of one of, if not, the sweetest character to ever grace the Buffyverse.

I feel exactly the same way. Willow and Tara will forever be my favourite characters and my favourite couple in buffy. They deserve to be together again. Their relationship was one of the most successful ones during the course of the show. It was up there with buffy and angels relationship. It was a thing of beauty.

Tara's death was human, too. Or, it was inhuman, but definitely not magical. I don't think I want to see her revived.

I only think tara could be resurrected because she is a witch. She had magic in her blood. Her mother and her grandmother were two very powerful witches. Joyce was an ordinary woman. She can't really be resurrected, well she could, but you know why.

Taras death wasn't magical but it wasn't human either. She was murdered. There should be some magical loophole in terms of a resurrection for her. Saying that she was a witch and all that shes accomplished. There should be some way for her to come back. I assume the writers of the show and the comic have pondered over the exact same thing for a long time.

Do I make sense if I say that Tara's death was *in*human, but not *un*human?
Yeah, but that's what death is. It's sudden and it's stupid and it's pointless and it's not fair. But it happens.

I think that point was mostly stressed with Joyce's death, but it goes for Tara's as well. Along with Fred's, Wesley's, Jenny's, etc.

Tara's death was very, very sad. I didn't see it coming since she had been added to the main credits and she died at the end of the episode. It was annoying in Buffy Season Seven though when Tara's death was made all about Willow and they tried to make you feel sorry for her and not for her dead lover. I heard rumors that Joss planned to bring Tara back at the end of BTVS S7 but Benson was unavalible for fliming
