I was in the store todaywith my big brother and I heard this white old lady talking about how when black people and white people have kids they polute the the perfect kingdom white race and I WAS SOOOOOOO ANGRY!!!!::grrr:: She was also saying that Mexicans need to go back to mexico before this country becomes a nother 'beaner' country full of poor people, and I WANTED TO SLAP HER. She said mixed races are drug adicted people and a whole bunch of more shiz to her friend.::grrr::
My brother was next to me and he padded her back and he said.
"Im half chinese, am I poluting the king race?" Even if hes only 1/4 (he lookd half so tells people he is) he has black hair and tanned skin and his eyes are alot more like my dads..(he got my dads traits) The lady looked at him and didnt say anything. But then she looked at me and she was like.
"Stick to your own race child"
My brother laughed and said "Shes my sister" and the lady looked away and walked out of the checkout lane to a nother one and I fliped her off and she and her friend looked away. OH MY GOD I WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ANGERY!! How can somone say something like that. And not all mixed races are poor, my dad has more money than that bitch and she has no right to be talking like that. Me and my brother grew up in private schools and my mom is a lawyer and my dad is a national representitave of his company....Im sorry but that woman is full of ****!!!! AHHHHH I HATE RACIST *******S!!!!::grrr::
Sorry I just wanted to get that out, we told my dad and my dad said that people who talk like that are, un-educated and have no respect for others. I think hes right.::rm::

I agree with you Lost Angel. I have nearly been in fist fights several times in my life when one of my friends would be harassed. The worst were these guys at this gastation at like 2 in the morning. They were a couple of white kids listening to rap and they had the balls to call my friend a 'chink'. I didn't know wether to hit him or laugh at him! But I went with the stupid option and nearly lunged in his window at him. He kept screaming that he would kick my arse and lots of other things I can't post so I kept telling him to get out of the car so I could introduce his face to my steel toed boots...in the end they took off and there was no physical contact...really, there are just very close minded people out there that were raised with hate in them. It sounds like your brother made a great point and put her foot in her mouth with the sister comment. I know it's hard to hear things like that and resist the urge to split skulls but really, hate breads more hate so you just have to by the stronger and more enlightened and blow them off. They can't change who you are or anybody else that matters to you so just let them be ignorant. It's their loss. 😉
 
It's really unusual for someone to be so openly racist. In a way, I'd rather they said something to my face than smile at me and talk behind my back. Or just follow me around the store like I'm going to steal them blind.😡
 
Thank you I think you are right and those guys are just loosers. I hope my brother got her to ponder her words now. BUT SHE TOLD ME TO STICK TO MY RACE (thinking I was dating out of race with my brother).......AHHHHH So my brother is not good enough....is she that racist. I mean I never met anyone like that. Its sad. I hope she thinks before she talks because her face is gonna meet somones fist one day.
 
I've a feeling that those people never really reflect on their beliefs, that it'd take something pretty drastic for them to do so.

I dislike racists intensely. In the past I've listened to the cr*p they come out with and said or done nothing and felt ashamed. If we let it go by unnoticed they win by stealth. Racism is a real first evil and leads down the road to holocausts. They have no logical basis for their hatred so point it out to them like you guys did and make them look as stupid and ignorant as they are (but don't put yourselves in danger - remember, these people are morons).
 
well yeah but what could an old lady do....But your right, never start something you dont know what could hapen if you get your self in alot of trouble.
 
I've never met anyone that extreme crazy and open about their racism. Thats weird. I've mostly just met people who aren't comfortable when they're around diversity. Like my mom, she's not racist or anything, but she's just told me before that she doesn't want me to marry someone of a different race. I kinda date alot of black guys, and she says "you're not gonna marry him are you?" everytime. First of all, I'm not gonna get married for like 10 more years! And then I asked her why and she said cause its hard to marry into a different culture... then I said. Hold up... you did it! Cause my dad's hawaiian... and she's like... ya, that's different.... umm.. ya, so then I said "so you regret marrying my dad?" And she said "no, I just know from experience its hard. but if you don't care about that you can do it." Mostly she just couldn't handle living in Hawaii so we moved to mainland when I was about 4. hmm... I found it a little ridiculous. She only said it because I date black guys alot though, cause she doesn't mention it when i date other people. Like she loves the Japanese culture, actually met my dad in Japan, so she doesn't care about that. She's just a little close minded about some things. But she's not hateful to anyone, or think people pollute races. That lady is psycho. Yet my mom makes me a little angry at times 😡

Sad to say, as long as there are ignorant people in the world, racism will be here to stay. There's no getting around it.

Lost Angel, bravo to you and your brother.....you both handled that situation admirably. I myself would have handled it differently (my fist usually overrules my diplomatic sense, of which I have NONE).

Why hazard yourself against such ignorant waste? As was mentioned earlier, people like this are always one can short of a six-pack, and in some cases any opposing action on your part would just begat a bad response.
You already know in your heart what's right, and that's pretty damned good. And there are always other ways to oppose the ignorant.

Funny for someone like me to say those things to others, but the way of violence is all I have ever known, being brought up in NYC, which is a pretty racist city, so I don't have any other choice.
But all of you DO...and I'm most heartened to see the positive responses of everyone in this thread.

I myself am all too familiar with racism....for I am of Hispanic heritage.....specifically, Puerto Rican......and it's many an occasion that I have been referred to as "Spic". I don't mind telling you, it DOES hurt.

But, as I said, that mode of ignorance is here to stay....but there do seem to be more of US than there are of those pea-brains, so there definitely is hope for this world.....a hope that one day we will see an end to this nonsense. That would be cool, eh?

Until then, let's all follow Lost Angel's example, and raise a collective index finger to those "people".

I hate racism!!!!I feel really stupid when one of my classmates says she 'd get to university if there were no Vietnamese people allowed to study...Our teacher spoke to that boy, but he hasn' changed his mind....
 
^^ A lot of people are that way when it comes to getting into schools. We had a discussion in one of my classes my senior year about college and one kid brought that up and was getting really angry, I just laughed at him.
 
I totally agree with u all. I can't understand how ppl can have such a mind.
I have only pitty for racist people, coz their hate prevent them to see the great part in other ppl.
I think for some reasons that it(s really hard to discuss with them, particulary when they have a very shocking talk (can u imagine a guy who tell u that gays & lesbians - it's a kind of racism, but not about skin's color- should be sent into a camp, to be reeducate, or if it doesn't work, should be killed like it happened with jewish during WW2 ?) I mean hello !!! He is the one with a problem !!!
I think we might not ignore them, coz they would be comfort in their idea, and continue to think they r right, but i think that unfortunately, we can't convince them just with one discussion.
A kind of psychiatric stuff for them will be the best, coz they need help !
 
Racists suck, try marrying into a family of them.
I am part Native American, though I don't look it a lot, I do kinda, but most people just assume I am white. I am currently married to a man whose parents told him that he couldn't marry me cause, and I quote "you'd have ugly Indian babies" and they didn't even know I was "mixed" until I told them, then they flipped out. And I brought a friend over to dinner, and they kept calling her an "Oreo" to her face even! I was so pissed. My poor friend, didn't get what they meant at first, but when she did she was so insulted. Then we were visiting them again, and my husband made a comment about how nice I look when I tan, and that I could get pretty dark if I stay out. His dad gave me this look I can't even describe, then made a remark about buying me some sun block so that people don't mistake me for a half breed Mexican. Things like that just make me so sick. I mean if they didn't know I was mixed they wouldn't have as many problems with me, and the fact that they couldn't even tell at first just makes it worse. It is just so stupid to judge people by their skin color. Plus it's not like the white people are all one race either, they are mostly not all German or Swedish mostly they are a mix of different nationalities. So if you're a mix of different kinds of white it's ok, but not if you're a mix of different kind of anting else?? It all just seems so silly, not to mention the most pathetic excuse to hate people I have ever heard. I am so glad my husband realized how insane his family's views are, and this may sound sick, but I hope that racism dies with his parents generation. (Not that I want anyone to die, I just want people to not be raciest)
 
Are we equal?
I get the fact that racism is bad and all. But we ARE different, we can all try and say we're equal and all, but not only in looks, but also in personality and such, caucasian, hispanic, arabic, black and asian people differ very much. Tests have proven that the average asian IQ is 110, caucasian is 103 and black is somewhere in the 90. Which is exactly why I think this case is so complicated. We're trying to be equal when in fact, we're not. We're just like dogs; we are all dogs, but we're all different breeds. You can't say a german shepherd and a poodle are the same, can you?

Muslims
We've been dealing with Not with Mexicans or black ppl. But mostly muslims, they're trying to get more and more influence in our country and it's starting to get out of hand, and though I can say I'm not a racist or anything, I'd rather see them go back to their own countries. Because here in Europe, they're bringing in a lot of tension, and I fear it will only get more and more violent and hateful.

My opinion
Judging people by their origin or their looks is wrong, you have to judge people on what they do (or what they don't do). And then you can go right ahead and hate people. At least you're doing it for the right reasons.
 
But is there really a RIGHT reason to hate someone? Or is it just that we find reasons that would seem right to us? Even hating those that are against others for no seemingly logical, moral or spiritually good reason doesn't necessarily make our hate of them right or more virtues. Why hate at all?
 
LA i'm sory that you had to encounter that stupid woman! but i am glad your brother did that to her! and he spoke up! he said some really great things!

i have 3 cusins, their mother is norwegian, and their father is from pakistan. my oldest of those 3cus he started jr HS and since he had a pakistanian last name they put him in norwegian 2, which is a class for kids who have just come to norway or/and can't speak norwegian that well... so the school just asumed that since he had that last name, and his for name(which i think is beautiful, but it's not norewegian) they just assumed that he didn't speak the well norwegian(this kid was "born" and lived the 5 firt years of his life in danmark, but he has lkived since then in norway, he's 13 now, and i remember when he was 6, he could speak english pretty good! he spoke norwegian and danish!)

there is alot of rasicem in norway these days, alot of BS about muslims, and how they seak ill of norwegians(okay the norwegians who say that, need to take alook at themselfs!) and how they are all into arraged marriges and they burn their wifs when they don't want them or if they've sone something bad and so on.. man i can't satnd that talk(and of course i speak out! hating rasicem...)

i think that rasist people need to get there arses out of their sofas and back to school! cos they need to get some education!
i did not grow up in a family ho are rasist, so i'm so shoked when i hear people say rasist things... cos i am pretty open myself!

BTW: i feel this is like something i heard on the sopranos once: dr.melfi said onec(or her husband) that it was ashame that those 5000 italian people involved in the mob, was defining how peopl look at the 5mill italian people in amarica... i think that aplies to what's going on here!
there are so many things that are said it's just wild! i mean people should be premited to have some fear of other coltures and religons, but what's with all the name calling???

some one i know, *** was starting to handg with osme new friends, who live in a part of my home town that is very rasist! and they had told *** that some pakistanian boys in my home town, had gone to school to kick the arse of one of ***s friends, and *** was so mad that this had append, and *** was like al inraged, and didn't like the guys who did this and sayd they where cowards and so on, for showing up 10 guys against one.. and i didn't say nothing at all, cos when you can't see that, if the tables where turned, ***s friend would have done the same thing... then hey what ever i'm gonna say is not gonna awake the mind in that area!

i'm sorry this is getting to be so long! but this is such a seriouse thing!

Allycat: yes we are different! of course, a girl who grew up with a active chritian family will be different from me who didn't, we will have learnd different things about life, and we will act different in different situations... i don't expect a muslim girl to have the same ethics and norms and valuse oas i do!

here to there are pakistanian peopl and so on that are in to politics, and i think that's great! we need a little diversety!

I don't like racist people either, but you can't fault people for their beliefs...most racist people were raised that way and it's hard to break from what your parents always taught you. Don't get me wrong, I completely despise it, and it sickens me that people can sit around and judge people immensly by their skin color, religion(sp), sexual preferences, ect.

My best friends step dad wouldn't let one of her friends over because she was black, I don't want to say it, but he told her that "If you ever bring that (insert n-word) in this house ever, I'll kill that b****" That ticks me off that he told that to her, I don't see what's so wrong with it. *sigh*
