Racism!!!

I also hate racism!

I dated a guy for 6 years, my high school sweetheart........oh Louis where are you now?? Anyway, he is Indonesian/Chinese and I NEVER thought I would face the abuse I got for dating him. Especially from my 'so called' friends! It was unbelievable. They called me names cause I was dating a guy who was Asian and they would say really racist things in front of me eg. jokes and stuff, and i wouldn't laugh and say that wasn't funny and they would have such goes at me.

Lets just say I stayed with my sweetheart for 6 years and my friends for about 1 year!!
 
good for you...nothing wrong with dating asians ^_^!!!! But your friends were wrong to say stuff like that...grrrr if my friends did that I would freak out!!!!!!!!!
 
It was horrible and TOTALLY uncalled for! They didn't remain friends for very long! How can you judge people by their appearance, its just so........WRONG!!
 
Yep, they weren't real friends !!! I mean, what the hell is going on in their head to think such a way ???
I'd never understand racist ppl, I mean, I don't get how they think, how they came to think like this & to hate ppl for stupid reasons.

I'm glad for u, that u stayed with ur bf so long & was able to don't care bout ur 'pretended friends'.
 
it is!!! And to be racist about the way there eyes are or what color there skin is....its wrong and I understand where your coming from. My brother gets more crap then me but he's 'HOT' lol from what my friends say and so he dosnt get crap from peers but from adults is a nother story!!
 
I'm white, but anybody who's racist to anybody, even if i don't know them will get a mouthful from me.

Racists are so narrow mided, what difference does it make?
 
It's good that most people here would claim they don't discriminate others


About being offended only if you know yourself that something is wrong with your X-characteristic, I don't agree on. I'm perfectly proud of my mix background, but if some woman told me that I was polluting the white race and was a drug addict... I'm not gonna lie I'd be offended, though I wouldn't get down about it or dwell on it.

Why would you be offended?

Either you would think that drug addiction is a normal characteristic of people of your mix background and share a common guilt or you would think you are indeed polluting the white race.

The first option was my point, the second one is irrelevant, you are not white, why do would you care about the status of the white race? And also, you wouldn't be polluting the white race, because you are not white, so the "pollution" would precede you.

The only other reason for being offended I can think of right now would be because you care alot about what other people think of you, which wouldn't involve racism. In this case, a simple "I think you are mean" would offend you.

If I'm wrong, then please tell me why exactly would you be offended?


Note: Even though I don't think this should be explicity said, know that I'm not making accusations or anything.
 
What right does any person have to pass judgement on someone they know nothing about? Racists make unjust assumptions. There is no shame behind it at all. Just frustration as a reaction to pure ignorance.
 
For your answer to the question why I would be offended, I guess it would probably just be for a reason of my own trait. I can't accept it when people accuse falsely, I'm kind of hard headed, I'd probably be a good lawyer, but anyways... I'd get offended because if they told me all of mixes were drug addicts, and I personally and many other people don't do drugs. I guess I'd say the source of my being offended is the fact that she accuses out of ignorance with no background. Wich also goes for polluting the white race.. because in saying that she's implying that she, being white, is superior to me, with no background to that statement. Then I'd punch her in the nose. 😉 jk
 
It makes me sad that the hate that racist people have was often taught to them by their own parents. It makes me sad that they hate because they are ignorant, and it makes me very, very, angry because I know that their ignorance is what keeps them from being able to think clearly. It's a vicious cycle of stupidity and hate and I don't see any way that it can ever be eradicated.

So you would get offended because racist guy is ignorant and tries to come off as superior? That's where we differ, I guess. I don't care if his ignorant or not, it's his ignorance, not mine anyway. I don't care if he thinks he is superior. I know he isn't.
 
I hope you didn't take any offence to what the stupid old lady had to say. Some people are just brought up ignorant I guess. I don't care where a person is from, what they look like, or any of that stuff. I just look at if they are a good person. And if you are a good person, then that's all that really matters. I can't stand when people are racist towards other people. I wanna be a social worker when I grow up, becuase I wanna help people. When I become one (if i do lol) I won't care who comes to my office looking for help, what descent they have, or anything. People should not be judged on their race or orentation (did i spell that right?)

I have an openly racist uncle. He is very...mean. I remember around the time the terrorist attacks on 9/11 happened. My cousins had a homosexual muslim teenager over to their house for thanksgiving. I think his name was "Ib" but it was his nick name. Well, anyway, my uncle went nuts and started hitting this kid, and I got so angry. He did nothing wrong. Robert (one of my cousins), He, and I were just minding our own business and my uncle just starts how with how "he has to get outta the house". Well, in return all of us (Nicole, Megan, Robert, Rachel, and I) left the house. If one person is excluded, we all are. He is racist towards everything, man! Towards... race... orientation... gender... Let's start with the gender part. He has the whole, "women are only good for 15 minutes and to obey me attitude". When I have female friends over, I have to like... keep them in another room because I'm afraid of what he might say. He got married once, and they only stayed together afterwards for 2 days. Anyone wanna guess why? Now we can skip to race. He hates EVERYONE. He doesn't even like his parents, my grandparents, because they are 100% Italian. I'm like "hello? What do you think you are?" and he goes "I'm 100% American." and I was just sitting there blinking. He hates the black community. He always talks about how dirty a race of people they are. He even said something like that in front of one of my friends! If I ever brought home a girlfriend who was asian, african, hispanic, whatever the race, I would have to make sure she didn't talk to him. He hates gay people too, for no reason. My thing is, I'm ok with gay people as long as the don't try anything with me. I just hate that my uncle is that way. My grandparents are that way too, so I guess that's where it comes from. I just don't know how people can be that stupid towards each other. I really don't.

PS: I don't agree with ANYTHING my ucnle says.

one thing that i dn't get is, when a person born in a country, that person is from that country, yes you do relate to where ever you parents come from!!! but here in noreway, there are alot of people who have parents fom another country, but they where born here.... and still some rasist people, think that, well i'm from norway.. but you, who have parents from another country, your not.. what's up with that???
but that doesn't count the ones with parents from the western world of course, just the once from afrika ans asia, and the middle east...

another thing: it's so sad that some poeple bring up their chldren in todays world, to hate and to dislike, and to be mean to others! they they pass their own fear and their own hate to their kids!

i do think that alot of fear is the basis of their hate against other races, and culturs. Fear of others being better and fear of suddenly one day they're gonna get passed by by someone they have learned to haet and dislike...

OMG WOW!!! I dont know whats worse.....kicking somone out of your house for being different or hating his parents.

But I can relate to that somehow. My dad was brought up in Taiwan and hes very in to culture, my mom was born and rased in Bosnia (none of my parents are american lol) and shes also very in to culture, there 100% different but thats why there marige lasted 19 years and still strong. But to the point. See now me and my brother are leading our dads culture. See my father told me that (hes not racist) that he doesnt want me to mary an asian because he said that there men are very mean to there wife. He said not all but alot. (My grandpa is a swete he never treated my grandma like crap and theve been maried 58 years) I refuse to beleave him!!!
But now relating to hating my parents. I DONT HATE THEM!!!! But my brother doesnt have a strong relationship with my dad. There always fighting and my brother always says he wished he wasnt born in to that family. He has many reasons but Im not going there.
See I cant hate my parets no mater how much we yell at them for being different.

Ok now to what I think that lady ment by poluting the white race.
See when a black and white person the kid is gonna look more black then white.
When an aisan and a white person have kids the kid will look more asian than white too. (My dad looks full chinese you would never guess hes half and my brother looks like hes mostly because of there eyes dark hair and taned skin)
When an arabic and a white person have a kid he/she will look more arabic.
But to my point. Im saying she was saying if more people breed out of race that would polute the white race, like there wont be no more were all gonna become mixed.
I dont mind realy, one of my best friend Manuel is half mexican and half white and hes an Abrecrombie Model and his father is a lawyer and mother is a doctor. Im just saying that people always say that mexicans clean our toilets...... THEY should have a sock stuffed in there mouth. ITS NOT TRUE!!!
My verybest friend is romanian and people always call her a mexican and shes not. Tanes skin and black hair does not always make you mexican. Im sorry. But her family is one of the richest in L.A.....SO ITS NOT TRUE!!!
I hate when people Think White people are the only ones who live good lives and are rich. I can name A BUNCH!!! I hate it when they stareotype (sp?) that every one is is poor and worthles and the white people are the kings.

I don't get it why so many people hate others...It's just unbelievable!!!! I can't imagine being with someone who would think like that...
 
there are quite a few racist people in my school, and it really depresses me. i try to do things, but for so many people you can't do anything, they are just so cruel and basically disregard the feelings of other people. In my school there are people of all different faiths and origins, and people are just so mean to each other, always making jokes and stuff - it's so hard to persuade people out of that ignorance and apathy and cruelty, even though being racist is so damn stupid and illogical. it makes me so mad 🙁

My mom told me that too, she said, at least not a full asian, cause I was dating a japanese/white guy.

Bang, zoom, straight to the point, 100% right and quite the most sensible thing to say about any hatred "ism" - I think even Shakespeare agreed with that - "If you cut me do I not bleed". We are all the same when you get down to the guts...obviously men's guts are slightly different to women's but that's just anatomy (plus everyone knows that men are from Mars and women are from Venus 🙂) Spot on Darkwillow.
