So why did GB leave the EU was it due to what some Neo Nazi said, no. It was due to a load of politicians who thought it okay to tell lies and to falsify details to get what they wanted.
One of those thing I find highly funny is folk saying God will help you. He won't as it is known that God does not affect free will. Did God intervene during world war 1 or 2? Or to save the children. One thing that is often said is that the Devil is responsible for all the bad stuff.
So is stopping the neo nazi's a good thing or not?

I think most people you'd call racist don't actually think they're better than people from other countries. It's more of a tribal thing and wanting their country (and its demographics) to not change.

People who really think their race\countrymen are better than other races\countries wouldn't have a problem with invading them.

From the tweets I've read, this is what confuses me - was there some promise made that reduced immigration also meant forced deportations? Why do people think: "We Voted Leave = Go 'Home'" is a thing?

Once we leave the EU what happens with the EU citizens living in this country is unknown. Those yelling about immigrants going home are in a very small minority.

People voted because they wanted change. I think it's unfair to assume that so many of those who voted Leave were simply tricked or hoodwinked. It'd be like saying people voted Remain because they were scared of all the economic threats.

thrasherpix[/URL]] don't know what to think of this, and I'm curious about the motivations behind voting to leave (or to remain for that matter). I'm sure not everyone who voted to leave did so for racist reasons, but I don't see how to tell which is a majority, and which is a vocal minority.

Depends on whether you think being against the level of mass immigration is racist. Though for a lot of people it was mostly about sovereignty.

The fact is that 'anti-immigration' people have always been labeled as racist, ever since the Blair/New Labour era way back in the early 00', if you were concerned about any immigration policy then you were labeled racist, simply as.

And yet the numbers that were brought in have been telling and things like housing, the NHS and education have come under incredible strain. When people want to control their borders they're still labeled racist. Sad.

I voted remain but I understand why some wanted to leave and it wasn't because of simple bigotry. That view is just narrowed-minded.

I read an article in which one guy said he voted to leave in the hopes they'd rewrite it to be more inclusive...I'm trying to find it now...found it! Relevant part quoted:

I think any xenophobia and racism is stirred up more by the remain side, not the leave side. I am very much in favour of a fair immigration policy. Depends on the level, but I would hope as a British citizen I wouldn’t be discriminated against.

I’m very happy with the result, it should keep all of them occupied for years and less time to start picking fights around the world.

Reading that again, I feel like I'm missing some context. But I know I've come across views that some wanted to leave in the hopes that the EU would be fixed, whereas voting to remain would cause the problems with the EU to fester as "people are satisfied."

I'm sure actual bigots were a factor, and that appealing to them helped the vote to pass, but given how close it was, it's not like they'd have needed that many bigots. Unfortunately, so many bigots know to hide their bigotry (even when they act on it, though votes like this do seem to embolden them), while others are too quick to name call others (which includes "bigot" among many other demon-names), probably because of how politics are part of the tribal circuits in the brain (who see opponents as unpredictable at best and often downright evil) so I have no hope of getting an accurate idea of how much a factor it was.

Here is the reality of what people were voting on:

The EU consists of three parts:

1. The European Council made up of 28 (soon to be 27) member governments, requiring squabbling and compromising that rarely reflects what anyone actually wants.
2. The European Commission negotiates trade agreements, enforces antitrust legislation and proposes legislation.
3. The European Parliament with 751 representatives elected by the voters of the 28 countries. These members cannot introduce legislation, have limited budgetary control and can't dictate the union's direction.

No part of this works correctly and the parliamentary elections are more window dressing than actual democracy. The European Commission sets the agenda, introduces legislation and is responsible to no one. Yet people are quick to say that bigotry is what pushed the Leave side into power. No question bigotry exists in the UK and with such a slim margin all votes and all reasons for voting mattered. Places like Canada and the US can tolerate fairly high levels of immigration simply because they have the space for it. The UK has neither the space nor the wealth to accommodate a large influx of people. This is all people, not just of selected races. Outside of the EU, the UK can set immigration limits, set its own political agenda and have a much closer approach to democracy. A voter in the UK with a population of 60 million certainly has his vote count more than a voter in the EU with a population of 450 million whose representatives cannot do all that much.

No doubt there's been a rise in animosity towards Latinos in the US since Trump started badmouthing mouthing Mexicans.

The "animosity" (understatement) was here WAY before Trump. The difference between the UK and American situations is that millions of Latinos are here illegally...they receive welfare benefits and other government aid, amongst other things. Many refuse to learn English, yet scream racism when businesses don't provide Spanish-speaking employees.
The hostility towards Latinos is mainly directed at those here illegally; Not those who are legal residents.

Racial abuse is on the rise everywhere.

Australia has nothing to do with Trump or Brexit... but when this thread was written there were car 'bombs' (more like molotov cocktails) and attacks at muslim schools, a few suburbs over from me. This is not unusual.

A bimbo tv presenter recently voiced her concern of muslim immigration - I never saw the footage, but man did I see the backlash! Another muslim tv presenter started on about this forgiveness crap, and everyone on social media fell for it. I blocked Waleed, and all of a sudden my feed is full of hate for white people, even on social media - muslim men are openly threatening the public, but call them out and you are a racist.

The idea that more room can support more people is NOT true for Australia. We dont have much water - and ya kinda need that! They have all sorts of plants running to make water drinkable. I live in the cheapest suburb in my city, which is full to the brim with immigrants (I am not kidding when I say I can be the only white person I see for a week, no issue for me, most people are nice when they see my face lol). The area has the best services available in all of perth (community centers, cheap food/clothes etc), while those that have lived in perth their whole life avoid the area like the plague (it has the highest crime rate) and move to the outskirts with zero services... So its no wonder the "true blue aussies" are mad.

I dont give a crap what colour people are, everyone I have met here has given me a smile, which is more than I can say for the previous (all white) community. The world is more messed up than I can do anything about. So I'll sit in my bubble and make judgements on those that do 😛
