I guess for most people on here who live in the UK,you'll have read,or been in a place, where Rain has been coming down hard recently, all day,and all night.

A few of us got onto the topic of Global Warming a few days ago at work, and as cliche as it is to compare it, the movie, The Day After Tomorrow came up as an example. I remember when Global Warming was first starting to make the news as a serious event, and that changes in the weather would happen steadily in the coming years, as such, are we starting to see such results?

Or is it just a rainy year? lol.

I like how you wrote Rain with a capitol R. ;)
haha it all kinda seems that way but I dont think big disasters like that will happen frequently for a number of years. I think for us in the UK it's just bad luck!
Can't believe for the past couple of years we haven't even had a summer. It's been like, a few hot days in March & April and that's it.
Ridiculous!!

Only good thing we had was last winter with very little snow! lol
Hello! It's 2012. The world is going to end. 😀

On a more serious note. The warnings and predictions have been going on for decades and in general it hasn't been close to what we were told would happen. Sooner or later we will destroy earth. About that I have no doubt. It just seem that it isn't going as fast as we thought.

One example. We wouldn't have more cold winters because of climat change and for a few years it fitted. Now we've had some very cold and snowy winters. Which is also blamed on climate changes. I don't know enough about it but sometimes they're right, sometimes they're not. I just try to deal with the weather on a day to day basis.

Climate change has always happened. With or without our help.

I love you, Washy! Can I call you that? hahahhaha :D
I don't know if I would say it exactly means the world is nigh but there has been a lot of freaky weather phenomenons recently here in Australia a well. The Queensland floods last year were absolutely horrific. You could have fit something like 10 Englands into the amount of QLD under water. Then of course we had a friggen tornado rip through my old suburb and work place. Just in case you aren't sure - we really don't have many of those in these parts!!

The polar ice caps are melting. Fact. 😱

Don't they say if the salt concentrations of the ocean change because of this it could change the world's currents? Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Tsunami's, Earthquakes....it is 2012 as Washburne mentioned! lol I don't think it's the end of the world but I hope it is the beginning of a new time of conciousness. It's time to wake up!

Or maybe it's just raining a lot, who knows. Scientists are idiots, right? 😉 :einstein:
P.S. That's sarcasm......:bluewink:

You can call me what you want babe. As long as you're ok with calling you babe. ;)
I usually don't mind the rain, I'm a pretty positive person, so I always think the plants and trees are having a nice drink but my god, lately, the plants and trees are drowning! The field across from our house is pretty much a lake now! :S

Ironically, all this rain came after some hosepipe bans were put in place! 😛

And it took about 10 floods for them to get rid of it haha

It was the wettest drought for a long time. 😀

I'm starting to get sick of all the rain, it would be nice for the UK to actually have a decent summer. Oh wait we had it for about a week back in April, silly me.

I was told that my hometown haven't had this much rain in June since they started to collect weather data. Which was a 100 years ago or so.

That surprised me though.
Didn't consider this June to be much worse than any other year actually lol.

/SK

Send some rain my way; I'm tired of the heat!

It had admittedly been a slightly wet July for us too though...We've had some nice thunderstorms some evenings! The only thing I'm mad at is the winds from the storms have blown my garden around and laid some of my plants over.
