It seems everyone has parts of the shows that get them to react.
I know I go COLD at the end of "I Was Made To Love You" when Buffy comes into the house and sees her Mom's flowers. It's all I can do to not hit stop and go scrub the bathroom floor on my hands and knees to avoid watching "The Body".
And when they wheel the sarcophagus into WR&H I want to leap through the TV and grab Fred and take her out for Tacos for a week or so.

But, I've been noticing other smaller parts that always seem to get a reaction out of me.

Like in "The Freshmen" when the vampire girl breaks Buffy's Umbrella. I just wish I could pop into the screen, push Buffy aside and beat the crap out of the *itch myself.
Maybe because I also get all choked up by her GETTING the umbrella. It just seems to sweet. It's really Jonathan's speech and everyone looking at each other like, "Yep, you saved us all" that gets me.

Anyone else?

Lol, glad I helped you win your argument, gives you that warm happy feeling when you know you're right and they're wrong!

Yes you did. But the "Oh my God" comment is located after the "and" hence reffering to Taras death. (at least that was my intention) But maybe you mentioned that too? ;)
I find that Joyce lying on the couch in the background is the scariest image almost to the point I can't look at it.

And eveytime I see Illyria morphing back from Fred in mid punch in Not Fade Away, I uncontrollably cheer at the screen.

Talking of Jonathon-his little speech in Conversations With Dead People talking about his time at high scool, when you think back at Earshot, is so sweet. You know he's been on the show for so long, since the unaired pilot, that his final lines make me tear up a wee bit everytime.

I TOLD my husband that was him in the unaired pilot! You've made my day! I'm going to do the dance of I WAS RIGHT now!

Yep. Standing in line at The Bronze. He even had dialog.
Yeah, even that first time that I saw the end of "I Was Made To Love You" I FREAKED. It was like I somehow knew this was different from everything else and they weren't going to be able to research her back.
I had taped it off FX on a Friday, but I didn't watch it until Sunday night and I ended up staying up all night, tossing and turning and cursing the clock until "The Body" came on at 7 am Monday morning.

On a lighter note, tonight I tossed in a DVD while working. I was happy enough. Then when I went to lay down on the couch, I rolled over, fell asleep and then heard Anya say something about Xander digging and popped RIGHT UP and was all excited to see the Thanksgiving episode. I LOVE that one! It's got more laughs than 10 episodes of Friends all piled into one! And I'm STILL UP!

In Fool for Love when Spike says he's always been bad I instantly point at the screen and shout at it "LIAR!" Also when Anne came into Angel I can't help but shout at the screen "ANGEL THAT'S CHANTARELLE YOU IDIOT! DON'T YOU RECOGNISE HER!" Also when somethings obvious to us but not to the characters I always shout at the screen.

Well I didn't recognize Chanterelle, so I don't blame Angel.

But, when Spike says he's "Alwyas been Bad" I usually start singing Huey Lewis, "Cool is a rule but, sometimes, Bad is Bad....ah ip ip ip ip ip do whap whap"

Okay, here's another weird Buffy conundrum.

Why is it that I think Spike being mean to Harmony is so darned funny!?!

Sure, she's annoying, but I really ADORE her in S5 of Angel. And technically, she was one of the "more good than bad guys" in the whole scheme of things before she turned into a vampire.
I do feel a bit bad for her when she goes to LA in "Disharmony". But, for some reason Spike being horribly CRUEL to her seems not only okay, but for my sheer amusement.
Perhaps I'm most like Spike than anyone else?

One of the most frightening scenes for me was in "Hushed" when the guy comes to the door and the Gentlemen are there. He's screaming for help and can't make a sound while they prepare to cut his heart out, then the scene's over. Scares the bejeezus out of me every time that I see it.

The ENTIRE episode scares the beegeezus out of me!
Hush is just TERRIFYING. And I don't get scared easily. In fact, I can't think of any other show that's ever evoked that reaction in me.
I think it's partly that they did an AMAZING job on the Gentlemen. Talk about CREEPY.
But, it's also the no talking. It was totally unnerving. I remember the first time I watched it and I was ready for a nice happy Buffy show and by the time it was over I felt the need to smoke a pack of cigarettes and drink a gallon or so of tequila to calm me down.

Then again, I noticed in the Buffy/Thriller video on U-Tube that it was a LOT more scary than the actual Michael Jackson version and it hit me that it was because it was all the scary stuff off Buffy without the fun dialog.

I would not fair well if the world was mute, I'm afraid.

At the end of I Only Have Eyes for You, when Spike gets up from the wheelchair, I start cheering like an idiot.
And pretty much every time Willow is on screen in seasons 1-4, or when she's with Oz, I HAVE to mention how cute she is/they are.
I love Buffy for her (mostly) horrible fashion sense and I will point that out. A lot.
Angel's breathless (no pun intended) ''Buffy'' in seasons 1-3 makes me go ''argh''.

More to come.

a big YES on the "Buffy..." argh-ness. That's why I could never be a Bangel after S3 !
When Angelus snaps Jenny's neck with that deadly graceful sweeping motion. I had the same reaction that Buffy had...Oh my God she really has to kill him.

Xander's eye being plucked out...I hate that one of the core four got hurt so badly. It just doesn't sit well. It also always always reminds me of Gloucester in King Lear when his eyes were gouged out..."Out vile jelly where is thy lustre now".

Angel breaking up with Buffy in the sewer. "I want my life to be with you"..."I don't"...that short exchange genuinely causes my heart to quake just a little. You want to scream at the tv he doesn't mean it!! which he doesn't! and the looks on their faces...cruel Joss...just plain cruel!

Buffy pulling the Scythe out of the stone make me want to do the Dance of In Your Face Scoobies! it's just such a satisfying scene...sorta like nah na na naaaa nah!!!

Buffy telling Angel she'll never forget in IWRY and then she does...I find myself wishing everytime I watch this that just once she would remember...no two characters on either show did gut wrenching angst quite like Buffy and Angel.

When Angel and Darla are sitting in her hotel room after he has gone through the trial and she has accepted her fate and then Drusilla walks in...My draw literally dropped and said Oh.My.God...that's the only time I have ever done that during a show or movie.

The last one is really epic. A jaw-dropping scene. I was unable to move for a whole minute after that scene ended.
Xander's eye being plucked out...

Buffy pulling the Scythe out of the stone

When Angel and Darla are sitting in her hotel room after he has gone through the trial and she has accepted her fate and then Drusilla walks in...
Totally agree on them.

The two that gets the most reaction from me is Buffy getting the umbrella in The Prom and (Oh my God I can´t belive no one said that yet) Tara dying in Seeing red. A guy can cry, right? Not that it goes that far, but man do I get teary.

HEY! I mentioned the PROM!
I have a lot of these moments, and most of them involve water falling from my eyes... I am a BIG cryer.

Biggest moments in each season...
S1: Prophecy Girl: when Buffy makes her speech to Giles/Angel I sob... every time!
S2: Passion: come on... seeing Jenny's murder, and then the reaction of the Scoobies? total cry fest
S3: Choices: this ep is underrated, I laugh and cry
S4: Primeval: I tear up when they do the spell, and give a big yippeeee at the end
S5: The Body/The Gift: Yes, those are two... and I cry for both
S6: Seeing Red, what more needs to be said?
S7: Chosen: When the girls are getting Chosen... I am done for!

Of course I laugh, groan, cheer, and other various reactions in different parts like us all... but I am a big sap. 🙂

Some of the saddest bits are Joyce's death/Buffy's reaction, Anya's speech in The Body, Tara dying (I cry EVERY single time), Jenny's death/the scoobies reactions and Jonathan's speech right before his death.
Sad parts of Angelare Doyle's death....but it's more when Cordy and Angel are watching the video at the end that really gets me, Fred's death (that was soooo sad), Wes' death, the end of IWRY.

Scary/shocking bits include Hush (obviously) but the biggest one that always gets me is Anya cutting her face in Afterlife, that is sooo creepy/scary/disturbing!!
For Angel it has to be Hellbound. Also Spike getting his hands cut off in Damage, I can never watch that bit.

Ooohh, that bit where Drusilla walks (glides, rather) into the room to re-vamp Darla right at the end of the episode where everything usually ramps down and Angel gets philisophical was just amazing! That was the ultimate "Oh....My.....God....." moment for me. Joyce's body at the end of IWRY was bad, but that just came out of nowhere. It was so great that it was Drusilla too, who IIRC hadn't even appeared on Angel outside of flashbacks. That one had me staring at the screen long after the Grr Argh!

Angel's breathless (no pun intended) ''Buffy'' in seasons 1-3 makes me go ''argh''.
At just about EVERY Bangel scene in S3, the moment Angel comes in view, I can't help but mock-gasp "Buffy..." - and 95% of time time, he will echo me. Gee, can't you please move to LA, already?

Probably to noone's surprise (if you know my other posts), I find myself hissing "B*TCH!" at Joyce quite a number of times, especially in "Becoming-Anne-DMP". (My reaction to "The Body" is considerably more muted. 😉 )

No matter how often I see it, "Kick his ass" makes me shake my head in silent disbelief.

*plugs ears and closes eyes at the Joyce hate* LALALALALALALALALALALALA!!!!!
In S4 when Spike realizes he can hit demons and he's wearing that goofy shirt....I can't help but feel like they should be playing the ROCKY theme or something. It gets me all excited.
