Random JM love

Today, I woke up and decided it was a James Marsters day. I've had my iPod set to shuffle and repeat all of my JM songs (solo and Ghost of the Robot) and I've been watching highlights of my favorite interviews/panels/Q&A's/performances on youtube. I just thought I'd share my random JM love with everyone... My god I love this man.

I was so shocked when I found out he was American. He pulls off the accent extremely well!
Sounds good. Well, James sounds good, literally. I lost my James CD. Just the CD itself, I still have the case. I would love for a James love day. You could throw a party that its theme is James/Spike, watch Spike episodes and James movies, print out some pictures and hand up some posters of him! Although I still think of him a lot on a daily basis, not only a random James love day.

Oh, I think about him daily too. I'm kind of strangely obsessed with him... my friends are all annoyed because I'll randomly spout off random facts about him. I mean today I woke up and named September 5, 2010 James Marsters day. haha

And you know what the stupid thing is? That if it was another man from a hit show/movie, say like "Twilight", which is very trendy and that's annoying me to death because I hate trends, you wouldn't be looked at like you're a fool. You'd be like "normal". But if it's not from something that trendy... "who the hell is that?! you love him?"

That's why I hate trends. People like those trends because they're trendy, because everybody likes them. Do you know what I mean?

Well my friends all hate Twilight more than anything... They're Buffy fans too... They just aren't obsessed. They hate it when I get obsessed with anything... I have a really obsessive personality, so when I decided that I love something, I devote my whole self to it. I learn everything there is to know about it and talk about it constantly. My friends hate it when I talk about any of the many things I'm obsessed with... Including James.

Buffy started more than 10 years ago, and I've been obsessed with the show since then, since the beginning, which means I'm obsessed with Buffy for more than 10 years. So during school it was a very strong obsession that really bothered people, even my parents, they were actually worried about me, seriously worried. It's been years, so I think everybody got used to this, and now understand that it's part of me. Buffy for me is not only an obssesion, but my life, my passion, my religion.

With Spike/James I wasn't obsessed at first, just liked him. But when he became a regular, I think, I got really into him. At first it was Angel/David, in early seasons. Then it moved to Spike/James till today.

But it's a good obssesion right? On the other hand, it hurts. Hurts that I cannot see him, touch him, talk to him... marry him (can't believe he's now taken and getting married!). That's the bad part about the obsession.

With SMG, I always wish I could be friends with her. I jealous her friends, her baby, her husband, and everyone who knows her in real life. So that hurts too.

I watched Buffy for the first time this summer... and I was watching with my sister... and when Spike got out of the car for the first time in School Hard and said "Home sweet home" I turned to my sister and said "I love this guy." After that I always wanted Spike in every episode because I loved him so much. When it was all over, I did SO much research on James. At first it started as watching Buffy panels and I noticed James was there most of the time and I felt very connected to him. As I watched more and more, I decided he was one of my favorite people ever. It's weird... he reminds me of the kind of guy I wish I had had around growing up... Like if I knew him, he'd be almost like a paternal figure to me. I really wish I could meet him because I'd love to see if I'd have that connection with him. The more I see of him, the more I want to just talk to him and hang out for a while.
My dream is to be an actress... if I ever get there, I really hope to work with him on something just so I can hang with him for a bit.

Same here! Well I want to be actress, writer or fashion designer. And with all of the above, I think:

Actress: I could act beside him (or SMG for that matter).
Writer: I could cast him to my movie/series (ditto)
Fashion designer: I could dress him (ditto) and they would wear MY clothes.

Well I've got two movies written... one is called Marching Band:The Movie and the director is modeled after my director from high school. He's called Jr. Richardson (my band director in high school was named Jeffery Richardson better known as "JR")... and if I ever make the movie, I'll ask James if he'll play Jr. Richardson before opening it to casting because he's already got many of JR's mannerisms down... like he does them himself and I've already seen him be MEAN to high school students...

Lol, I'm in the same boat! I'd love to act, even if it's just small stuff (commercials, plays, etc). But you know what they say in the business of acting...don't quit your day job!

Uhg, I'm the same way. It used to be Harry Potter, but now my obsession has moved on... well, that's not to say that I wont dress up for the midnight release of HP and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 1... My friends hate it when I talk about the current thing I'm obsessed with. I feel bad sometimes. Ah well, I put up with there silly baggage.

I have an obsessive personality too. When I went through my Heroes obsession my friends got really annoyed because all I did was talk about Peter Petrelli. Some of them watched the show, but they weren't obsessed. Now I'm obsessed with Buffy, but none of my friends like it as much as I do. One has watched the first 3 seasons, but that's it. Most of my friends are into manga/anime, which I don't have much interest in. The only animes I've actually watched and liked are Pokemon, Digimon and Dragonball Z.

Anyway, I think it's awesome you've dedicated a day to JM. I love him too. He's such a good actor and from the interviews I've seen seems to be a genuinely decent guy. I'm so jealous of his fiancee! 😀 If only I'd become obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer a few months earlier than I did. Then I would have known that he was in Australia for Supanova (so was Charisma and Eliza) and I would have gone to it.🙁 I'd kill to get his autograph! 😀

Btw, are his songs good? Should I get them? I've only ever heard him sing in OMWF.

um... well my favorite Ghost of the robot song is Angel followed slightly by Goodnight Sweet Girl... From Civilized Man, I'd say my favorites are Katie and Smile. And from Like a Waterfall I'd say Like a Waterfall and Don't Worry Son are my favorites. but they're ALL really good.

Thanks! It's my birthday in less than a week so hopefully one of my relatives will get me an Itunes voucher. Now I know what I'll be spending it on :)

it's not iTunes. You can get the album Like a Waterfall on Jamesmarsterslive.com and you can find the other stuff online somewhere... but it's not on iTunes. It sucks, I know.
 
Yup. This thread wins.

And I have no where else to post about my random James day I am having. I am watching totally random episodes of TV shows just because he is in them. . .

This began because I was catching up on Torchwood. And was like, Hmm, I miss Captain John . . . which led to . . .hmm . . .I miss James . . .

And I JUST found out today that he was in Northern Exposure? I freaking love that show and have no recollection of him. Must have been small roles. But now I have an excuse to watch the whole show over again, just looking for him. 😀

Sometimes I just get so tired of watching this dude die! For serious. . .

It seems like everything I pick to watch lately . . .he's toast . . . /cry
