When I first watched Tabula Rasa on t.v. I could have swore they made a point of explaining the fact that the guy chasing Spike was a loan "shark". I'm pretty sure it was Buffy. She seemed annoyed by the cheese of it. But when watching it on dvd, it isn't in there............ did they cut it out or am I just imagining that it was there to begin with? Lol

Huh... interesting question. I don't know about that particular scene, but I think I read that there are some minor differences between the TV versions and the DVD releases, especially in season 6.

Edit: According to this website, they only cut the part where Willow kills the little deer: http://www.movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=1123

Edit: Oh, and it seems that the TV version is actually the uncut version. Weird.

That's interesting, I've watch on DVD and on TV but not during the original run, I'd be interested in hearing what the minor changes are. Lilac1 can't really help with your question, I don't think I've ever seen the ep shown with the explanation :S But you're probably right and they removed it from the DVD release.

I have the DVDs and I know that they mention the lame loan shark pun in that episode (that is such a surreal...thing haha. It never really occurred to me how ridiculous that was). Well, I'm pretty sure that they do. It sounds super familiar and I didn't see that episode when it aired. I'm also pretty sure that they show Willow killing the deer but...I first saw Bargaining on tv so I could be getting the tv and DVD versions mixed up.

In both versions you see Willow killing the deer, but they cut out 2 seconds or so for the UK DVD release, which is the one I own. At least that's what the website says.

Ohh okay. Do you know what those 2 seconds were of? Haha it seems kind of ridiculous to cut out 2 seconds of deer...killage.

Unfortunately the episode "Bargaining: Part 1" on the UK DVD was cut in the scene where Willow stabs a deer, compared to the UPN broadcast. The scene was even more brutal in the original version. You could see the blood of the deer running into the container. This "original version" hasn't been released yet. In Germany the same Version has been released so that all German DVDs are affected as well.

There's missing a shot of Willow and of the struggling legs of the deer.
2 sec.

This is what it says on the website I posted a link to somewhere above. I don't know why they did it. But since it's only such a small and rather unimportant part, I don't really care.
But I think on German TV they cut out some shots of the scene where Warren gets skinned alive. Well, that's something I'd really miss on the DVD release.

Oh okay, haha that's understandable. I mean it's silly, but it's not entirely necessary for us to see the deer struggle. I would also be really annoyed if they cut out Warren being skinned alive on the DVD.

It's interesting to see them cut scenes like killing a dear, but then you get to see the rest of season six that is FILLED with sex. I mean I could understand why some countries would have an issue with the whole skinning Warren but in comparison to the rape scene that last a good 5 minutes, you'd think cutting small violence scenes wouldn't be a priority
