Rank all the main characters of BTVS who were in the opening credits (yes Tara counts even if only for 1 episode) and for characters such as Angel/Cordelia please try to take Buffy only events based for them.

1. Buffy - She's strong, compassionate, sweet, badass, feminist, loving, a great friend, sister, daughter, leader! Buffy is everything and I love her so much. Every season I fell more in love with the amazing blonde girl who was capable of saving the world.
I will always love and respect Buffy she's my favourite character cause I relate to her so much. She goes through so many struggles but she always powers through. Proud of u Buffy!

2. Spike - I can go on all day listing my love for Spike. He's hot, he's charismatic & with a soul he's absolutely perfects I love that Spike can love with and without a soul. He's a strong person and obviously cause I love Spuffy, I adore that Spike did become a better and a good person for Buffy and all the shirtless/naked Spike sure helps him in my rankings lol!

3. Willow - Willow evolves the most throughout the series from a shy high school teenager that's extremely smart to a powerful witch who becomes a lot more confident in herself. I love watching Willow and she's so compelling! I just adore her and especially her relationships. They're so nice to watch.

4. Anya - Anya is so funny and she's everything. She makes me feel good! I can always count on Anya to put a smile on my face and I love how she developed from S3 where I didn't really like her to S4 she becoming one of my fav characters.

5. Tara - ah my sweet Tara. I loved how Willow was able to bring her out of her shell and she's just so good and nice. I also loved her friendship with Buffy in Season 6 & her death is heartbreaking! I love ya Tara!

6. Cordelia - while I do mostly love Cordelia on Angel as my fav! I still heavily appreciate S2 and S3 Cordelia. she's a great foil for Buffy and her development on Buffy is underrated. She's a lot more then a stereotypical mean girl that she was portrayed in Season 1. Although I hated her relationship with Xander, she deserved so much more.

7. Dawn - unlike a lot of other fans. I don't find Dawn irritating or whiny or complacent. I think she's funny and brings a great deal to the show.
She shines & Dawn centric episodes are enjoyable for me! The moment I did not like was the whole "Get Out" speech but other then that I can't find an instance I didn't really enjoy Dawn.

8. Angel - I really do love Angel at times on BTVS especially S1 Angel! *heart eyes* but he deffo got boring eventually and his move to ATS was needed!

9. Riley - Riley is extremely underrated! He's nice, hot, a good person and he doesn't deserve the hate he gets. I adored him in S4 and if it wasn't for bad writing in S5 he would be higher on my list.

10. Giles - Giles is a fun and great character he's always grounded and fun to watch. He deffo had a lot of moments in S6/S7 where he made me mad which considers his low ranking but overall I love Giles and I think he's great!

11. Oz - I enjoy Oz. He's a cute, cool and laid back guy. He helped Willow get out of her shell too! I just feel like the character wasn't important at a lot of times and they kind of ruined him in S4 by making him cheat on Willow & in New Moon Rising I was firmly Tesm Tara. But I do like Oz.

12. Xander - umm next !

Lols for days re: Xander
1. Spike - From the moment he showed up on screen, to his death in Chosen, he has captivated me, put me on the edge of my seat; his story is, by far, the most complex of the show, right up there with Wes on AtS. The journey he undertakes is just breathtaking and he remains one of my favorite fictional characters of all time.

2. Xander - I love this dude! He remains the only pure human throughout the show and yet manages to display such bravery and loyalty in the face of things that would make lesser men run and hide. Sure, he's not perfect and can, at times, be quite insufferable, but as I mentioned, he's only human, lol.

3. Cordelia - As much as I love her growth on AtS - and I do! - there is something about bitchy, high school Cordy that I will always cherish. She had the best comebacks, the biggest attitude and her relationship with Xander is one of my favorites on the show, before, during or after they dated 🙂

4. Tara - Her sweetness pulls you in, her strength keeps you there. One only has to imagine what she's been through, especially after Family aired, to realize that she was always strong, she just didn't show it as much as after Willow came into her life. I will always have the utmost respect for anyone who can live through that amount of abuse and come out mostly unscathed on the other side.

5. Dawn - Whiny? I don't understand that word? Giving everything that this 14-15 year old child had to live through in S5, who can honestly blame her for acting or reacting the way she does? Hell, I found her much more mature in how she handled things that I would have been, that's for sure. She also shows that it's possible to grow and learn from what you go through and my absolute proof of this is Potential in S7.

6. Giles - He might have been slightly higher if not for the destruction of his character in S6 and S7. Before that he was a loving if stern father-figure with an intriguing dark past, a penchant for getting knocked out, great taste in music and some of the funniest lines/moments of the show. Love him!

7. Buffy/Willow - They get to share a spot as I feel similarly about them; I like them, at times even love them, but for the most part I'm just indifferent. The side characters are infinitely more interesting, who knows why. Willow's journey is, to me, just not as believable and fluid as most of the others.

8. Anya/Oz - Another pair to share a spot. Both were not utilized as thoroughly as they deserved to be and were given rather bad farewell's - though Anya got Selfless and Oz got New Moon Rising - but for the most part they were enjoyable, funny, and enough of a 'side' Scooby to impart important wisdom to the 'core'.

9. Angel - Really don't like him away from his own show. But at least I like him better than...

10. Riley - Ugh, just... no 🙁

I mean actually in the intro. The 12 I named were in the intro for at least 1 episodes.
Buffy - she's the lead, she's my girl, who I wanna be and who I admire the most
Spike - he's the lover
Dawn - I love the way she first appeared. I admire the writers for their chutzpah and I love her growth over 3 seasons
Giles - the father
Willow - the best friend
Cordelila - the shadow self who became a friend
Angel/Angelus - the real dark romance
Xander - the boy who took a long time to grow up, but did become a good man
Tara - far too perfect to be real but a fantasy if often more useful for storytelling
Oz - Not a lot there, but cool I guess
Riley - poor Riley, coming to Sunnydale bought him so low, he has my pity until the ultimatum and in S6 when he forgets to tell Buffy he's married
Anya - funny and cool with enough flaws to be interesting

1. Buffy - I just watched season 2 and I can't get over her resilience. She is one strong lady that looks amazing doing so. Goals.
2. Giles - He's sexy and his sly little quips are brilliant. He has completely put his life on hold for the greater good and Buffy and not once does he complain.
3. Cordelia - so much banter in a bombshell.
4. Tara - I want her to be my bestie. Or maybe girlfriend. Either way, I adore her.
5. Anya - Cordelia light.
6. Spike - his character arc is beautiful and Fool for Love is phenomenal.
7. Willow - as the series progresses she exhibits some truly disgusting behaviour. I can't decide which Willow is really Willow. The sweet, intelligent, determined girl from high school is wonderful but the arrogant woman that comes later - not so much.
8. Angel - his character within the series Buffy is just... there. Angelus would rate a little higher and I don't mind him on his own show.
9. Oz - just an absolutely nothing character to me. How a werewolf musician can be boring is beyond me but it's managed here.
10. Dawn - she's great in season 7 but before that she makes me want to stick my head in a blender.
11. Riley - the less said the better
12. Xander - as above

Great ranking although I think Willow is arrogant in Season 6. I think she redeemed herself in Season 7!🙂
