Oh right you've never seen Dollhouse have you? Seem to remember you saying something about that.

It wa a tough call because Serenity wasn't aired as the first episode of Firefly, which is crazy because it's a great pilot episode that sets everything up. But I still think Welcome to the Hellmouth is slightly better.

That is true, but lucky its the right order on the DVD and I count it as the pilot.
@Mr Trick Wait which show was Dollhouse? I know Eliza was in a couple of shows around the same time.
If it's the one where she plays some kind of brainwashed escort? If so, watched the 1st few episodes, and doesn't effect my ranking.

While Whedon hate is strong now in 2021, I actually do think The Nevers was his strongest pilot other than Firefly, helped by the budget and high production values. I would also say the unaired Dollhouse pilot was better than even Angel.

Agents of SHIELD by far the worst.

That's the one. You should go back to it at some point. It does get better and is a very good show once it gets going.

Having rewatched Ghost the other day I think I might put it ahead of AOS pilot, just because that pilot feels too network TV, and with Ghost you can at least see the bigger ideas of Dollhouse as a show.

Joss did not direct Buffy pilot. Of course he was the showrunner, he directed the unaired pilot etc But at the end, even with a very involved on set (until Season 3 full time, at least) showrunner, is not the same if he directed it. Much more on Buffy where almost every press/media Top 10 ranking is 80-90% full of his episodes.
