Rank your favourite major villains/"big bads" of the 7 seasons. Mine goes like this:

1) Season 2 - Angelus/Spike/Drusilla
2) Season 3 - The Mayor/Faith
3) Season 5 - Glory
4) Season 6 - Dark Willow/life (in an interview Marti Noxon & Joss Whedon said that the big bad in season 6 was "life" metaphorically), The Trio were great too
5) Season 7 - The First Evil
6) Season 4 - Adam (wasn't too fond of the whole Frankenstein idea, although it did provide somewhat of a uniqueness to the season)
7) Season 1 - The Master (too typical?)

1. Tie between Angelus/Spike/Dru and The Trio-both had such depth that while evil, you felt for them in their pain/insecurities and laughed at their humor
2. The Mayor/Faith-The Mayor just seemed like such a Ned Flanders, except for that whole snake thing. Who knows why Faith turned?
3. Glory-despite the goddess thing, she was just like Buffy. Same size, same stinging barbs.
4. The Master-I liked him. Started to grow old for me with the whole Anointed One, though. Is it just me, or did Jim Carrey rip off Mark Metcalf's voice when he did the Grinch a year later? things that make you go hmm...
5. The First Evil-I loved seeing the deceased characters that I loved so much. What it represented, meh. Now, if we considered Caleb the major "big bad," it would have been higher on my list.
6. Adam-nuff said.

1: Angelus - Easily the best, the most personal and Buffys true nemesis
2: Glory - She was glorificus,(see my sig)
3: Master - Great concept and likable character, pity he wasnt used that much
4: Mayor - Funny guy, but made 10times better when Faith joined him, plus Trick was cool
5: Initiative - I actually really like Adam and s4 is one of my best
6: The First - kinda crap, Calebs good though.

Im not even going to insult my list by including Dark Willow. Shes a 1 out of 10.

1) Season 2 - Angelus/Spike/Drusilla they where great and dark and evil hehe x

2) Season 7 - The First Evil because it was a brillant idea

3) Season 3 - The Mayor/Faith they where interesting an cute

4) Season 6 - Dark Willow because she rocked my socks and life is just like everyones big bad eh?

5) Season 5 Glory girl has class looked good in red and had a sense of fun

6) Season 1 - The Master had fruit punch mouth hehe

7 Season 4 - Adam because he just damn annoyed me .

P
punkypower
fruit punch mouth! **snort** love it!
1. Drusilla/Angelus
2. Dark Willow
3. The First
4. Faith/The Mayor (mainly because of Faith)
5. The Master
6. Glory
7. Adam (worst villian ever though I love how they killed him with Buffys eyes all glowy and their voices in unision)

1. drusilla and angelus (i love drusilla--she's a brilliant character)
2. the first and caleb (because i loved seeing all the dead people from the different seasons and i thought caleb was an awesome character that really reinforced the whole buffy message)
3. glory (she had some amazing speeches about humanity and i loved her minions and all their names for her)
4. dark willow (it was so...painfully real, her grief and evilness)
5. the mayor
6. adam
7. the master

1. Angelus
He was deliciously evil
2. Glory
She was such a fun bad girl
3. The Mayor
He was a cheerful evil guy
4. Dark Willow
Like her, but she was only there for four episodes
5. The Master
Kinda silly
6. The Initiative/Adam
The Initiative was okay, but Adam was boring because he had no personality
7. First Evil
The FE wasn't corporeal, so they didn't do much besides make threats

1) Glory - I like her, she's sassy!
2) Angelus/Dru - Psychological, sadistic fun
3) Mayor/Faith - well who doesn't love the mayor?
4) The First - more psychological fun
5) Dark Willow - friends shouldn't fight - but man, that was cool!
6) Adam - he would have been better if he hadn't killed proffesor Walsh and they'd been in cahoots together.
7) The Master - well he didn't do very much...

1. The Trio/Dark Willow
2. The Initiative/Adam (Ok, there's not much to him, but really? How cool is this guy? He has a friggin spike sticking out of his hand!)
3. The Master (I just love this guy. He's so funny at times, and he's a great Big Bad for the first season, seeing as he's like a Vampire... to the 'fullest', and S1 was mainly about Vamps. "Whatta you think? 5.1?"
4. Angelus/Drusilla/Spike (These are #4 only because I thought of 'Passion' and 'Becoming')
5. The First Evil
6. Glory
7. Mayor

The last 4 are really tied. I do love Glory and The Mayor, but the just don't run up there with the other BB's.

1.Angel/Spike/Drusilla (Just wonderful villains)
2. Glorificus
3. The trio. Can't help loving those geeks
4. Faith and the Mayor
5. The first
6. The master
7. Adam was the worst villain ever!

Those were the "official" villains.

1. Angelus/Spike/Drusilla - Brilliant villains. Angelus is just so evil.
2. Dark Willow - Well, Willow's my favorite character, so it was nice to see her kicking everyone's ass for a change. And it was great for Xander to have his time to save the world.
3. The Mayor - What a great villain! It was amazing how he could go from hilarious to downright creepy in the course of a second. Harry Groener's acting was absolutely flawless.
4. Glory - Although I loved her sassy attitude, her storyline, and the entire concept around her, Clare Kramer's acting annoyed me to no end.
5. The Master - He was just the typical villain...besides, I wasn't a big fan of season 1.
6. Adam - There are only a few people that actually do like him, and I am not one of them.
7. The First - SO BORING! UGHHHH! I didn't mind Caleb, though, mostly because I love me some Nathan Fillion.

Glory/Mayor Number 1. I love them equally. yes i do so!

The Mayor was such a polite lovely funny charming handsome fella
Glory is wicked, with a great perspective on humanity and life. Parrallel to Buffy in many ways, and the other side of an Almighty Goddess was a weak pathetic man, take what you want from that. She just wanted to go home... awww.

The others???

Angelus was a great turn for Angel but it shows how much Spuffy rules.
I did like Adam (shocker!) and he was almost sci-fact, with everything governments have been doing for decades trying to create super soldiers. Also a great perspective on life... creation... death.
Trio :cheering:
The Master.. neh! But seein him in The Wish is fantastic and in Lessons... wow what a sequence that is. Its great to see him when you aint seen him in ages, but again neh.

(I dont wanna put Dark Willow down cuz erm, it should be the trio really, but as much as seeing red kills me to watch, dark willow is fantastic, if deep down sad to watch, but just FANTASTICAL!)

Tied at #1 are Angelus and Glory: I can't pick, I mean Glory was a chick who had this witty bat-shit crazy charm, I loved to love/hate her. But then Angelus was just so deliciously bad, i mean come on, who else thought David became instantly hotter when he became Angelus? Anyone? Beuller?

#2 The Mayor, he was funny and we can tag Faith to him too which makes it twice as good.

#3 The First/Caleb: yeah it wasn't corporel but come on, it was bad! And it could pack a serious punch being any dead person, best way to psychologically beat your opponent, AND it brought us that awesome sequence at the end of Lessons where it alternated between all the other big bads!

#4 Willow/The Trio: meh, the Trio was funny as hell and dar willow was worth it if anything for the classic yelllow crayon/xander saves the day speech and Giles kick-ass return... otherwise I really could've taken it or left it.

#5 The Master: he was the original so he doesn't deserve the last slot, but honestly a little too cheesy for me.

#6 Adam: Dead last, however thunk up the season 4 arc really should have gone back to the drawing board.

1. Glory - I just loved her personality. So funny. The actress that played her did a great job. She was like an evil Cordy. Didn't hurt that she looked nice in those dresses either.

2. Angelus - I actually think he was the most EVIL of the bunch. He attacked Buffy and her friends physically AND emotionally.

3. The Mayor - He was funny. Actually seemed like a nice guy except the wanting to be a big snake part and destroying the world thing.

4. The Master - He's mythic.. plus has a long history with Darla/Angel, and he had personality.... which puts him ahead of Adam/the First. Plus, he's got fruit punch mouth... hehe.

I really don't care for the last 3 all that much, but I can still rank 'em.

5. ADAM - Kinda lame but he was atleast SMART and had a mini-gun arm attachment thingy. That's kinda cool.

6. Dark Willow - Never really bought into her, but I think the scene where she walks into the bookstore and "absorbs" all the dark magic from the books (and the symbols crawl across her skin) was cool as hell. Plus, I love the dilated-pupil, doped up on magic look she's got. Makes her look like she just oozing magic.

7. The First - Hard for me to connect with a big bad that doesn't assume a physical manifestation.
