How would you rate all Buffy-verse seasons from 1 to 10 (1 being the worst and 10 being the best). You could also comment about your favorite season and your worst.
This is my list.

Buffy:
S01 - 8/10
S02 - 9/10
S03 - 9/10
S04 - 7/10
S05 - 7/10
S06 - 8/10

I always loved season 2 and 3 of Buffy, they bring so much memories and to me they are the best, season 6 is also one of my favorite but the Spike thing doesn't really appeal to me. All Buffy seasons always felt very balanced, each one of them had something special in it.

Same goes with Angel, the first 3 seasons were simply amazing, but when I'm doing a re-watch I really don't like passing through Season 4. The 5th season was good, offering some wonderful episodes, the rest was kinda boring to me, the Angel and Nina thing, having control over the company they fought in the past and so on.

What about you guys?

Buffy S2 and S7 will always be my favorites. Doesn't matter how many times I watch S4, I jsut can't warm up to Riley and the Initiative crap. As for S8 I was so lost reading the comics (I'll have to read them again when I finally get the last issue) I just couldn't get into it...

As for Angel S1 and S3 were good. I had some issues with S2. Couldn't stand S4. S5 is my all-time favorite! (Spangel for the win XD )

For BtVS, my favorite seasons have always been 3 and 5. I can't really decide. Season 3 has almost zero episode I dislike, and season 5 was the most touching, the season that cimented my love for Buffy as a character.

As for Angel, it always has been and always will be season 4. That season had me on the edge of my seat. It begins with probably one of my favorite episode of TV ever and after 2-3 average episodes, we jump aboard a freight train that never stops! Despite the somewhat weak conclusion to it all, it had what I personally consider to be the best succession of episodes on either show (from around Ep5 to Ep16). I know a lot of people dislike it because of the Cordelia storyline, but it doesn't matter to me when there's so much going on at the same time. 🙂

Buffy season 2 and 3 are my favourite seasons of all time with season 7 being a close third. I never used to like season 7 but it grows on me during each yearly rewatch.

Angel season 2 and 3 are my favourite two seasons and sometimes I find season 5 a bit overrated but I still enjoy it.

Buffy S5 is probably my favourite season out of any series ever. It just balances everything so well, Glory is just an amazing Big Bad, Buffy is still close with the Scoobies - especially Giles, Buffy is growing up, Joyce's storyline is just heartbreaking. This season has some brilliant standalone episodes "The Body", "I Was Made to Love You", "Intervention" etc while the overall arc of the season is just incredible. A good season should be able to balance standalone episodes with arcs and S5 does just that.

Dawn doesn't annoy me as much as other fans and nearer the end of the season she's actually sympathetic. This season mixes everything I love about Buffy - comedy, intense tragedy, uber supernatural threat, a cocky kick-ass big bad, hard hitting domestic family issues - the list goes on!

S3 and S6 are joint second, both for completely different reasons. S3 has very few bad episodes while S6 just speaks to me emotionally.

Angel S3 is my favourite - there's never a dull moment. Wesley taking Connor away has to be the most heartwrenching moment and I loved the twist of Connor returning at the end of the season!
 
Just concentrate on Buffy for now:

S1: 7/10- Solid opening and climax, some good filler eps, mediocre Big Bad.

S2: 8/10- The show grows up about halfway through the season, becomes heartbreaking must-watch tv, epic season finale.

S3: 9.5/10- The best, everything clicks, all the characters, the Big Bad is the best, strong standalone eps. Plus Faith. 😀

S4: 7/10- Without Spike this would be about a 4, a few great eps, but overall...pretty average. The 'Intiative' plot is silly, so is Adam. So is Riley, kinda.

S5: 8.5/10- This season just sparkles, although I'm not a fan of Glory there's a lot to like here, the writing is particularly smart. Grown up issues (loss, parenthood/ the struggle with responsibilities. sacrifice) tackled in a grown up way.

S6: 5.5/10- Urgh, a few good eps in the beginning (up until about Tabula Rasa) and then...grown up issues tackles in a lazy, half-assed way. The series ditches humour and wit for Spuffy boinking and really poor metaphor. Charactization goes out a window and Buffy goes from world-saving heroine to depressed bystander in her own goddamn series.

S7: 7.5/10- strong start, strong finish (with some patchy moments) and a crummy middle. Too much Potentials and Spike, not enough Scoobies and Faith. The First could've been used better. Quite a few good ideas, but some poor execution.

S8: 6/10- This is pretty strong (lots of Scooby stuff, the 'Faith' arc, whedon wit) up until 'Retreat', then it becomes head-scratching. Then is goes insane and hair-pulling and disappears up int own backside.
The last issue hints at better things to come.

S9: 7/10- Pretty much the opposite of 8, poor opening, some poor characterisation and little wit. But 'The Core' was very strong, lots of good character stuff, understandable stakes, Simone dies, Buffy kicks ass.

S10: ?/10 The signs aren't good...

S1: 8.5/10. Suffers from trying to grow out of nothing in only half a season but S1 (and the bit of S2 where they were still using up some S1 ideas) is one of the best for banter and wit.
S2: 9/10. Grows up a bit but manages to retain the fun feel, which is incredibly hard to do well.
S3: 9.75/10. Culmination of the previous two; typifies all about them that was of the good.
S4: 7/10. Some of the best standalone eps but an ill-used big bad and a generally depressing feel drag it down. Would be about a 5 if not for a) Tara, b) Spike and c) Joss Whedon.
S5: 8/10. Finds its feet in the more grown up world and Glory is my fave big bad. Let down slightly by Dawn.
S6: 9.8/10. The ending depressed the Hell out of me.
S7: 6.875/10. Would have been about a 4 if not for Joss Whedon. Gets off to a decent start and has some high points but too much of the potentials and not enough of the scoobies, Giles, Faith or Angel hurts it a bit.
