Reading glasses... Oh crap!

Today, I learned something new about myself... I need reading glasses. I don't know if this sounds so aweful to you, but it sounded pretty stinkin' bad to me because I look bad in glasses. I used to always try my friends glasses on and none of theirs looked okay. So I basially dread the day I get them! :violin:
 
I said the same when I found out I had to get them. I need them for reading and distances and I hate them. Normally I wear contacts but i've run out so need to get some more. I just don't feel the same with my glasses on, and the bridge of my nose is small so I always feel that i'm peering over them. Not to mention the fact i'm clumsy and have sat/stood on several pairs.
 
Yea... I just got my glasses this year too... I need them for driving and reading... Its weird because I see things so clearly now! I love mine, because the frames are wicked 😛

But I can't get contacts... Sailing forbids it, incase of a fire, its not a good thing to have contacts in 😛
 
I discovered I needed mine while I was in the Air Cadets. We were shooting in the range, and as my aim was off as I couldn't really see I accidently shot through the light cable and plunged us into darkness 😀

Wow! That's gotta be the funniest thing to see... Well, and dangerous.



I actually still had a perfect shot on the range... Idk how that happenend without glasses... Intuition... LOL

I wasn't aware they had contacts for reading. Anyways, I have a hard enough time getting to english class on time without having to stop in the bathroom along the way and put them in!
 
lol. Now I'm curious!

My friend just got her glasses about a week or two ago, and she got awesome frames. They're purple!!!
 
I've got my glasses several years ago but for the latest years I've been using contacts. Now though, I can't afford them so I have to use my very old and ugly glasses, but I'm getting used to it just like I did when I first got them.
 
Yeah I've always thought reading glasses were kinda cool but yea.. that's me.
Not on me though, I look so nerdy in my glasses, plus I look even younger than I already do.. it's weird.. So yeah I never use mine anymore.. I loved glasses whwn I was a kid though, thought it made me look smart.. that's probably why people thought I was a geek lol.. I never knew... mhm..
 
I always thought I'd hate getting glasses, but then came the day when i got them and nothing really changed except me seeing better. It's like I absorbd the glasses or something like that. So don't worry you get used to them kinda quickly.

But then again I got new contacts monday and it's quite nice to be able to stay away from the glasses.
 
I have shockingly bad eyesight, so much so that my name in school may as well have been Jill-Look-Out! I wear lenses about half the time, but if I need people to overestimate my intelligence, glasses are the way to go. Plus, they help soften the edges of the dreaded Hangover Eyes syndrome. And I get to be obnoxious as I like! Surely nobody would hit a girl wearing glasses?
 
I have had glasses for quite a few years now for distances. I wear them like, once every two weeks because I keep forgetting to put them on, lol. But yeah, you get used to them quickly, don't worry. 🙂
 
Yea it is pretty easy to get used to them 😛

At first, I'd wake up in the morning, thinking I was wearing them still. It's a really weird feeling, but it goes away 🙂
 
Ahhh, it's not so bad! I've been wearing my glasses everyday for five years! (Surprisingly, I've only broken one pair) But, I know how it feeling because for the first year, I had the dorkest glasses you ever did see! Now, I have less dorky and smaller ones. 🙂
 
Think yourselves lucky! I've been wearing mine over 9 years, since I was 5!!! It's completely unfair, and I would love to wear contacts, but they're too expensive and I get glasses free at Specsavers cos I'm under 16.

At least now I have a small pair. I used to have massive round ones (well, not massive, but still pretty big), but luckily I've never had to wear anything like Deidre's glasses from Corrie 🙂
 
Hehe, anyone ever seen photos of their parents when they were young and wore glasses, they're massive, alien like things. Or at least my mum's.
