Do you ever think to yourself that certain aspects of your life parallel a situation in Buffy/Angel? Obviously I don't mean the supernatural stuff or the boring everyday things, just when something happens you get reminded of a certain episode.

Or am I just slightly crazy?

Not at all crazy... I often think "in terms of Buffy." Most times it's with a quote or line that I think of to respond to a situation or comment. And sometimes it's one of those things where something happens, and it reminds me of something that happened in Buffy or Angel.

I think it's a totally normal thing to think in terms of Buffy, and there are definitely paralells in life.

Glad it's not just me 😛

My current situation is very much Pangs-esque and I actually know someone like Harmony (she's great entertainment).

I had almost the exact same college roommate experience that Buffy had. She was insane and we hated each other which made me insane and my friends very very afraid. And it was as awful and hilarious as the show depicted it.

The biggest parallel that I've had would be a roommate situation similar to Buffy's. I had a roommate who was soo much like Kathy it was scary.

I have had moments like these. There have been moments since my husband left when I will wait til the kids go to sleep and I'll be doing something random in the house like folding clothes or cleaning the kitchen and I will cry 'cause I miss him. T reminds me of that moment in "Listening to Fear" where Buffy is crying at the sink because she is just so stressed out and upset.

Not anymore that I can think of, really, but there sure have been a lot more Buffy S6 parallels in my life than I care for.

As for the present, it's more reminding me of Firefly than Buffy. 😛

Uni. My first two years of uni are starting to look like Buffy's first two weeks. Except none of my friends from high school are in any of my classes and I didn't meet a cute guy on the first day who went on to fall in love with me...

But every time I watch The Freshman, I can empathise with Buffy so much it sucks.

gah yes... The Freshman reminds me of my time at uni, too. *sigh*
Ted basically was the guy my mom dated when I was a teen. Except that we lived with him.

Those are really the only 2 differences. So I find that difficult to watch.

Some of my other parallels are actually pretty disturbing. . .

So, I think I will spare you guys. 😀

I see a lot of myself in a lot of the characters too. If that counts.

Well the whole Angel-Buffy-Spike triangle sums up my current situation. apart from i'm stuck in early season 5 spike mode. just stuck crazy about the slayer..

No I don't think your crazy either sisterofmercy. I also sometimes feel like there's some parallels between episodes of buffy (along with other shows) and my life.

If I could pick one episode that draws a parallel currently it would be "What's My Line" except instead of my career being set in stone it feels like everyone else has their careers sorted out whilst I'm directionless in mine.

Oh God. I worked at Double Meat Palace I'm sure of it! Every time I watch scenes that involve DMP I think back to working at Hungry Jacks (Burger King to anyone outside Aus) and remember the stifling miserable vibe that was there. Even the way they cast the other staff was accurate.

I acted like Buffy after Parker for awhile as well. All miserable over some guy that clearly just wanted a good time. Only difference was that I was 16 when I was acting like crazy stalker Buffy and realised by 17 that sex didn't equal a connection.

that's awesome you got that so young...I'm still confused about it.
As of right now, I can't think of immediate parallels, but I'm constantly being reminded of Buffy/Angel throughout the day, whether it's a quote, a name, an episode concept, facts about the show/etc, just anything really. My mind always finds a way to bring Buffy into my day, even if it doesn't completely make sense.

Like today for instance, I met a boy named Angel. I freaked out and told him how much I loved his name. I think I scared him a bit...
