Real name time!

Alas, I was not given a middle name :-( But it could have been worse because my parents were considering the middle name Leigh (pronounced Lee) for me. It would have sounded silly with my first name "Micheley" Glad they didn't do that to me.

Rana (Reina) means "Queen" in spanish. My ex boyfriend who was Columbian and Russian (Go figure) used to call me that.

My names Danielle and I hate it, So everyone calls me Dani or Danio, hardly noone calls me Danielle..I don't have a middle name, my mum never really saw the need in them...
 
Well,in fact,Rana means frog lol😛...Reina means queen🙂. It's weird cuz when I say your name I think of queens and castles,but when I write your name I think of the frog-prince from the HarryPotter-The Simpsons episode lol😛...I'm weird. Anyway,it's a pretty name,it's kinda odd🙂

Morrowind is a kick-a$$ open-ended RPG where not only do you level up your character with skills and powers..but every single thing you do determines different aspects of your player..how well-liked they are, how much items will cost to purchase or barter, whether or not you can be diseased by sick animals or changed into a vampire...things like that.

Virtual you is killer you should see her...she's a level 8 Wood Elf and she's not too powerful just yet but when she hits level 70 or so she's going to be able to obliterate with a glance 😉

Oooh the full name...hehe I remember that! I perfer my Dawn name (was supposed to be my first name but my dad wimped out and my mom got her way). Thing is..people ALWAYS assume my name is Jennifer..which it isn't...even at work here, they put Jennifer on my E-mail and Badge..I'm like that's NOT my name..see here's my driver's license!!! I like the name Margaret! I'd go by Maggie if that was my name.

Oh and I meant to say it's cool your name is an acronym of your brother's!

EDIT - meant to add that Reine is also Queen in French...La Reine = the queen! 🙂

Trust me...it's better than Alyssa Florence...not saying my last name with that one...I'll sound like even more of a loser!

Oh cheers odd! The way I see it is that in its written form it means things, in its pronunciation it means other things but spelt differently but there is nothing with the correct spelling and pronunciaton.

Alyssa is very pretty🙂...nothing is worse than Martina Magalà­,trust me😛...well,maybe Magui,I don't wanna even know how you guys pronounce it lol😛..but,I guess I'm just used to it and doesn't seem so creepy anymore😀
 
I always see it as Magwii..but I think thats just from the movie Gremlins. Thats what you get for saying my name is odd.
 
lol....I think my pronouciation of Magui is way off....at least at first it was....then you said it was sorta like Maggie...is it pronounced like May-gee? I always used to pronounce it like Faith said she does....

Magui: Your name isn't bad....really...it's not...I think most people hate their names...Doesn't your last name start with an M too?
 
Alyssa Florence? It's not that bad, I like it... I'm sorry Faith, but Rana in spanish is frog, so... sorry, it's a cool name, very weird for me, but it sounds pretty cool 😀
My middle name is Margarita... and there is a alcoholic drink named Margarita >.<
Karla Margarita, now that is a soap opera name 😛
 
My real name's Paige. I don't like it a whole bunch. I would've rather been named what my dad wanted to name me. His choices were Leslee and Morgan. My grandma wanted my to be Rose...don't ask.

My Dad wanted to name me Morgan also...and as much as I hate Alyssa...I'm glad I'm not named Morgan...but I like Paige..it's pretty...
 
My real name's Caitlin...i don't really like it but oh well. I was gonna be named Sarah, but noooo it had to Caitlin.

That's good, my youngest dwarflet's name is Paige.

The thing about names...

If you've ever read Ursula LeGuin's Earthsea stories, you'll know that to know a person or thing's real name is to have complete control over that person or thing. It's also an aspect of Celtic superstition that you don't tell anyone your true name, unless they are trustworthy family members or friends of the clan for the same reason. So, with our tongues firmly in our cheeks, Mrs. D and I gave our kids middle names that they use all the time, and then, just for more confusion, give them nicknames that they use too! Makes for intersting application forms, let me tell ya!

So, be careful about giving out your true names, folks...you never know what kind of crazy magic user will send nasty weather to you when he's pissed about the crappy cold Canadian Winter...hey, why are you looking at me??
 
The only thing I fear is God's Wrath. So I am truly not worried with any superstition or person. Of course, I wouldn't give my full name because I don't want people looking me up any time soon. Name at Post #5.:happy46:
