We all love fictional characters (or else none of us would have favorite characters). And the fictional characters are usually interesting and have interesting life, sometimes better than ours.

So try to think about yourself as a fictional character. Doesn't matter if it's from a TV series, a movie, a book, even a music video.

Now, what would you rather be, a real life person, or a fictional character?

It's easy if you're a fictional character as someone is writing your path, problems usually get resolved and you tend to end up among lots of friends or involved in relationships by pure chance. It's not always that straightforward in reality and you are to a certain extent, your own author.

I'd prefer to be fictional at the moment so I could skip over the monotony and get right to the good stuff, but sometimes that journey is necessary.

I prefer to be real, if you're fictional you're ultimately in the hands of your creator/author... and if that's someone like Joss Whedon blood, terror and heartbreak will be coming 😉

Fiction tends to be based on a format where you need a good story, if everyone's happy la-la then it's not an interesting story. So as a fictional character you would be doomed to be put through a lot basically just so that you can develop your character in a manner similar to a real person.... only worse cause fiction tends to have a lot more drama.

I don't know. I know it's probably not what you were getting at but if being fictional meant I could be from another world with like magic and stuff in it I'd love to be fictional 😛 I also like the idea that you're going to be doing something interesting if you're fictional because your writer needs to make the story interesting. Although the potential for heartbreak and misery is somewhat of a turn off. But it's probably just as likely as it is in the real world anyway. I find my life at the moment rather boring, so I suppose for now I'd like to be fictional as you're more than likely going to take some interesting twist sooner in your novel than later. But the answer probably changes depending on my mood!

I agree that if I was myself in a fictional world like Supernatural or BtVS/Ats, I'd probably be scared and not able to do anything. But if my fictional self came with the emotional strenght of living in that kind of world, I'd love to be fictional!!!! And I talk about supernatural worlds mostly because I wouldn'gt see the appeal of living in a fictional world where everything is the same as real life.

And if I had the chance of meeting Angel, Buffy, Dawn, Dean or Sam, why wouldn't I want to be fictional??? 😀

Honestly, I'd rather be fictional. In fiction anything is possible... In reality it is limited by all sorts of things. In fiction, the ideal becomes the reality. In reality, the ideal is the ideal and reality is the reality. There's very little overlap there. Sometimes that depresses me to no end.

And I think that says a lot about my current emotional state and how I feel about my life at the moment.

This reminds me of The Matrix.

I choose the red pill. I want the truth, damn it! I don't want to live in some non existent "reality". In this scenario, if my life is fictional, does that mean that someone from the real world could possibly inform me that my entire life is a lie...or day (I don't know what I meant to say here..."or day"? Hahah what?? I'm just going to leave it there)?

Or am I schizophrenic?

Yes. I do over think everything. My 3rd grade teacher once made the mistake of asking me how much wood a woodchuck could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck...wood.
