Reality Live Chats, Part 3 (All International Editions: Survivor, Traitors, BB, Amazing Race, etc)

ohhh give me a breakdown of what this show is. Hubs and I are loving these international (for us) reality comps!
This year's line up of celebrities

Wiki
The format sees a group of celebrities living together in extreme conditions with few creature comforts. Each member undertakes challenges to secure additional food and treats for the group, and to avoid being voted out by viewers during their stay, with the final episode's votes nominating who wins a series.
Celebrities participating on the programme nominate a charity to receive a donation from ITV, with the money raised from charges on voting via text, phone or interactive services.
The money is raised by allowing viewers to vote by phone for the celebrity they would like to complete a "Bushtucker Trial" – a physical task usually involving snakes, spiders or other creepy-crawlies found in the jungle – and, later in each series, to vote for the celebrity they would like to see win the show. The final remaining celebrity is declared the winner of the show, and is branded the "King" or "Queen".

@Cohen Check this out.... if you can view it then this is where you can watch it live or on catch up. ITV normally 9pm every day till the end!

This looks fun! Let me know when it premieres. Is it a weekly or daily show? I know scheduling for British and Aussie reality shows are a little different than American.
I'm A Celebrity starts Sunday 9pm UK time 😀 should be a good one this year!
WOO! I havent watched the UK version, is it filmed in australia? I love the aussie version that is filmed in south africa. Our hosts are Robert Irwin and Julia, and they are hiliarious! I know part of the appeal is seeing faces you're familiar with in awfully hilarious situations, but I might try UK version too. Been a good year for reality tv!

Have you been watching BBUK this year @Nix ? I know you used to be a fan. Whats your thoughts on it?

BBAU live stream has been excellent! I am LOVING having it on in the background. Its apparently been on Tiktok for international viewers too, but I dont have tiktok. The livestream on tenplay . com . au has got better, and Im not sure but I think if you are watching with VPN you should be able to vote too. Doesnt seem too strict really, they're just happy for the views.

Its really cool to see the live stream vs the edit. A few act differently in the diary room and when they know the cameras are watching. The tasks are a bit tedious on live stream but will be fun to see cut together on the daily show. Big Brother really put his Daddy voice on for the begging task 😂

Hollys meltdowns are MUCH better live, Ed is way more of a dick, Vinnie is hotter, if thats even possible. Jane has fabulous fashion sense. The cast has really grown on me. I agree with you @Cohen I think they have chosen well as there have been clashes and meshes that have been excellent to watch.

Hey, yes it's normally filmed in Australia 🙂
No I don't watch BB anymore I got bored lol.

This BBUK season was primarily a snooze fest.
Survivor time 🙂 Have a little migraine so might not follow it well.

The idols are lame looking. Bring back cool looking idols! The sob stories really check me out. Do you like me Uncle Jeff? Jeff was too kind... did he have a personality transplant along with all the plastic surgery? Bring back bitchy Jeff!

Sophi! That is not what that prayer is for! Shes gona win isnt she? Mary wasnt on your side today Sophi! Savanah has just secured her endurance challenge beast position.

My head isnt following the scramble again. Its just too long now and too twisted, I almost just want to skip to tribal to see how that goes and be surprised like last week. I've probably been spoilt with BBAU this week and am just finding everything else a bit slow cos I want to get back to the live stream!

Thats a pretty cool advantage considering the small tribe, really, they didnt count on her. I will be sad if MC is out tho.... Not because shes a great player or anything, only cos she hot.

SADFACE

BBAU Noms:
I am so sad that Jane was found within 5 seconds of safety, however it’s quite clear from public reaction that she won’t be going home this week.

I think it’s absolutely hilarious that Holly tried to assert she is looked down on for her looks, and she doesn’t always want the attention. Honey, you’ve been in Colin’s lap since day 1 because you know you can manipulate him WITH YOUR LOOKS. To compare the “plight” of beauty with fat shaming that Abs endures is absolutely laughable.

Interestingly, the noms against Abs was in essence prejudice against her being overweight. The reasons for her noms were all centered around her perceived laziness and sleeping in—directly related to her weight and probably depression. Which she talked about in that conversation. So these people are clearly great listeners.

Holly’s arrogance about beauty and the learned behaviors she exhibits due to entitlement stemming from her beauty, are what landed her so many noms. I can’t wait to watch her spiral on the daily when I get off work!

Michael and Bruce have misogynistic views, and I think they forgot about the competition part of the social experiment when expressing those views. However, I agree with them that Mia is annoying, but I think that’s some insecurity. She has these annoying habits that are due to coping with being in a group of strangers and feeling like an outsider.

My prediction is Jane is clearly safe, and Michael will be the other safe housemate, with Holly getting the first boot. Which will make her meltdown because she clearly never thought she would be nominated first, let alone evicted, because she’s entitled and beautiful.

I was sad to see MC go, too. I liked her as a player, and also, I thought it once again was a safe vote. I hope Yellow Sophie doesn't get much farther, because she doesn't play smart, revealing her voting plan to a person she had no reason to trust. Though not as badly as Rizo, with his failure to understand what a challenge threat Sophie is. I think he was the one that said they all have a 10% chance to win? It doesn't work like that; it's not a lottery! "She won't always win," quoth he. She doesn't need to always win to seriously mess up his game and everyone else's. Sheesh.

Savannah continues to be so full of herself that I have doubt about her story of being bullied. Now that they have a 90-minute show, I wish they'd divide the reward and immunity challenges more often. This one loaded a lot onto one challenge: immunity for five people, food for the same, and one advantage. I did like that the challenge was an endurance one. Blue Sophi comes off as so religious, and yet I noticed she doesn't know all the words to the Hail Mary prayer. She kept repeating the first two lines!

BBAU

Abs is so much better on the live stream too, I really like her! Just so comfortable in herself and chatting to anyone. The kind of person who puts you at ease. She does ham it up a bit in the diary room, but when shes just existing, shes chill. Holly does not put people at ease.

It will be interesting to see if the tradwife discussion from the live stream makes it to the daily show. Mia sees everything in black and white, she is very immature. Shes adorable, but just so inexperienced and cant grasp that some people have views that aren't strictly linked to politics. Bruce is actually looking better than he did initially after trying to explain to Mia the kind of relationship he is looking for in life - which is basically the same sort of relationship that Mias parents had - but she cant see past the "tradwife" label Bruce put on it.

Conor is getting stressed in there. Too anxious for this situation. Allana is worried the boys dont wash their hands after the loo.

I hope its Holly who goes first, but shes also generating a lot of content for them! I cant stand much more of Colin either. Micheal is getting a lot of hate online just cos hes an older guy with older guy personality.

Colin was annoying in the daily yesterday!
BBAU Daily show Friday/ep6 - includes the first promo for next years reality line up - Survivor Redemption - Simon is in it @Cohen
Holly rekons shes too good for this show. Love that they included the meltdown. I confuse myself watching the livestream being a day ahead.
Saw all the party and prep so wish I could fast forward this but it wont let me. Jane just about caught Abiola and abs SHOOOSHED her and Jane got confused and did a little dance, but they cut that. They were all smashed by the time they played the games.

Vinnie is extremely good looking. Definitely got the soapy look. He'll be on tv here for years to come if he plays his cards right.

They are currently playing red light/green light before bed. Its been a mild night.

BBUK Finale
Happy for the winner. The final two were a sweet pair. Jenny never lied about who she was, genuine to her brat self the whole way through and she was the best laugh of the whole series. I hope to see her in other reality tv.

I did watch half of the reunion, I just wanted to see Jojo dance and the tiff between Sam and Zelah. I turned off after that. I really, really did not like Zelah in the end, what a self righteous prick. Worse than Feyshoila. Nancy and Sam were a hoot. Emily was the surprise of the season for me, bright spark. Tate was cool, I liked him a lot despite not really being all that interesting. Cameron put me off the more I saw of him. Elsa and Teje were just the ditzy youth. Caroline still seeking drama by kissing Richard on the lips, lucky she wasnt arrested! That would have worked on 90's tv but certainly not now!

It was good for me to watch the season because I would not interact with people like that in real life, so it was good to hear their sides of the story and help me shape the type of people I will seek in the future. I probably wouldnt go hard core into another UK season. I was just so sucked in by Jojo and Chris from the celeb season, that I was chasing that high again. Did not deliver, as much as I tried to make it so.

Also highlights how much better the aussie casting is, yet again. I have been watching a lot of the aussie live stream and its been good. Holly is from the same city as me and is similar to lot of my old friends, so it is true to AU. Besides her, the rest are a really chill bunch. There are some blow ups and funny opinions, but there is no one who is so strict about their own personal moral codes, like there was in UK. Its also going to be a shorter season, which I think might actually be better for 2025 viewers. The last few episodes of UK dragged.

Daily show has been a good wrap up of the livestream. I'm impressed.

Sunday eviction.

Mel presents the show without overtaking the show. Shes great and I love every moment of her.

When Conor threatened to throw the chair at Michael, it actually looked far more serious on the live stream. Audio was cut, so it looked like Conor was fuming. I was surprised the daily show did show it, but it came across less agro when they had the audio with it. Conor has had a few meltdowns over the food and people touching things when he is cooking.

Im happy they included the tradwife talk with Bruce! I was there defending him in the chat because he sounded sane and level headed and they all turned on me, but now the show says the same thing I did when watching it live. I will be interested to see the Bruce edit going forward. People hate him but he just doesnt seem as bad as he looks. Ed is the worst man in there in my opinion.

So sad to see Michael go, he was such a shit stirrer and flippin hilarious on the live stream. The house was reeling because they did not expect he would go and wondered what the audience is seeing for that to happen. The thing is, the main audience isnt watching the live stream, they didnt see how sarcastic Michael was. They just saw he was a rich older white dude and voted on that. Abiola was especially upset, she has some surprising views for a fat black lesbian, but people also arn't going to see that either. Michael threw a bomb on the way out. I am looking forward to tonights show!

Colin and Holly had big drama after the show, after she was saved. Holly got munted and It was excellent. I hope they include that, so so so funny.

I couldnt deal with the burping and farting of colin on the live stream anymore. Tapped out for now. Another show warning me of the types pf people to stay away from. I am aiming to make my world a lot smaller after the reality of reality tv this month!

I love Mel as host! She’s authentic and engaging! Starting to think maybe they need to swap Julie Chen out with someone like Mel for BBUS.

I’m not mad at the evicted housemates. Mia was too much and Jane just didn’t fit. But I agree with her that the farts are much. Which is weird to say about BB. Colin is annoying. I couldn’t live with him!

Noms were interesting.

Vinny was playing well this whole time but the way he handled the 10k was bad. He should have just said “no one is guaranteed the 25k, and I’d like to walk out of here with something.” But either way he was set up.

I think Abiola may be depressed, leading her to sleep most of the day. Or maybe that’s just me reading into it. But she caught a lot of points for simply sleeping.

Bruce can be fun to watch, but some of his views are in direct contradiction to a lot of the house. Interesting that Coco just sees him as Riesling 😂😂

I thought it was ballsy of Alana to save Abs, and I loved how dramatic that played out. She was banking on Holly to be the replacement but didn’t count on Conor tying her. She was in tears immediately. What a fun twist!

The daily show is a lot easier to tolerate than the live stream this week haha. They do wrap up the days pretty well.

I loved the twist that Mia could nominate after she was evicted. I thought it was clever and put a target on exactly who she wanted it to. Ed being the one to boot her was great too, I saw in on the livestream before the show aired her. Mia was a roller-coaster right out the door. It was time for her to go, as she was beginning to be the butt of all jokes in there but unaware of a lot of it. I hope she doesnt watch it back without supports in place.

Bruce and Coco have been hilarious. As Allana said - Hes not Mr Right, he's Mr Right Now. Coco is only going for him cos hes pretty and hes there, she wouldnt want him on the outside and he wouldnt want her either (shes got kids and he literally nominated her for that haha). Bruce has been hamming it up, and it is funny, but obviously for show.

Allana made a good choice using her power. She got Holly up. I am saving my vote until the end of the week. I dont really care who goes. Holly brings entertainment but tolerates a disgusting man child like Colin. Vinnie will have a career on the outside regardless. Bruce will go find his tradwife life. Conor will get the attention and exposure he so craves.

Mel is awesome, shes done so well with the weather and conditions. I miss seeing the memory packages for the evictees and proper interview on the way out. Mel would rock that kind of thing. There isnt enough of her in my opinion!

Holly is so entertaining! And shes not an actress so it makes it so much better! Cant stop cackling in this episode. I might save her because she brings the drama. But then might save Bruce cos he's also ridiculous. Those two are my stars of the week, for sure.

Having a break from the livestream has been good, cos i miss all the burps and farts by only watching the daily show. I wasnt a fan of the CoHoe stuff, but watching it unravel is great.

One thing i noticed is that a lot of this cast is medicated. I'd love to know what Holly and Emily and Abiola are on, they are spacey and slurry and so out of it. Emily definitely comes across better in the daily show. Holly seems the same across the board. Abiola is usually asleep or laying down.

Im much preferring the bitterness and bitchiness over the politics of BBUK. Its not supposed to be that deep. The tantrums are much more fun!

Survivor US:

I posted last week about that episode, but the post disappeared. Anyway, I was sad to see Alex go.

I wish they would show the "schoolyard picks" when they have them. It would be interesting to see the dynamics of choosing, though it seems it doesn't strictly follow alliances.

I have felt in recent seasons that there were people that I really disliked, but there are several this season. And alas, they are running the show, while the likeable people are leaving. Sad to see Jawan go.

Survivor US
Fun challenges! I love it when they are over the water (I wish I was there). But I am still finding the beach scramble for votes, too long. There just does not seem to be enough natural content to fill the length of the show.

The rice thing exposed a good point - the season is so short now, they only have to wait a handful of days for food now. So food rewards are less appealing when they know the end date is so near. Plus half of them just got fried chicken or fresh chicken, so rice isnt all that exciting.

I was sad to see Alex go too! He was my pick to win. Now it will be one of those women who I find hard to tell apart. I would be annoyed if it was Soph who wins, Kenzie all over again!. I'm liking Stephen, he reminds me of old school players. Was cute of Kristina to play an idol for him, maybe not the right move, but at least she made a move. This was the first episode she really got some content with her mum breakdown.

Rizz is more like a big brother player than Survivor. All show.

I dont mind Jawan going, please be the end of Uncle Jeff. And exposing the alliance on the way out was clever. Lets hope Jawan taking Rizos torch is foreshadowing! I think I could rewatch this season, not the worst of the 40's.

I meant to say, "I have felt in recent seasons that there were not people that I really disliked...."

I agree, the 90-minute format is tedious. I tape it (yes, on an actual VCR) to skip over all the ads, and I frequently fast-forward past the tribal discussion, too.

That's an excellent point, that when they are only seven days away from the end, according to Jeff, they are willing to go without the rice. Also, this group is pretty competitive and factional, so none of them feel safe enough to do that. And that, I will admit, does keep it more interesting.

I feel like Soph has just become a hanger-on (or toadie, to put it more rudely). I like Stephen, but somehow I don't think it will be him. And I agree that Kristina hasn't gotten enough TV time to indicate a winner's edit. I really do not want Savannah or Rizo to win.

How did you feel about evictions this week??

Another point of evidence to show this "new school" survivor just sucks. And this season's ratings have been terrible. Jeff just does not want to admit that his vision is faulty and it's not as entertaining. The twists, the friendship bracelet immunities, the advantages, the sob story for EVERY SINGLE CASTAWAY. They've all been so incredibly stupid, it takes the fun out of the game. These producers need to watch Australian Survivor and remind themselves on what works.

I'm so glad that Jawan is gone. He was annoying to me. I'm hoping Sav wins. She's been a bit devious and fun to watch.

I was genuinely surprised. I knew Holly was hated, but I thought she might have had a strong fan base as well. I ended up voting Bruce, and honestly surprised she got less votes than he did. I think Holly kept a lid on Colin a bit because every single time I have tried to watch the live stream, he has burped or farted again and I've turned it straight off.

Im not sure if Bruce has fallen for his own game. He seems more obsessed with Coco by the day. He said on the live stream that he knows what his character is because of what Mel has asked him on the live shows. So he really leaned into it. But now even I am starting to believe he is head over heals for Coco and shes fobbing him off but leading him on at the same time.

Allana and Ed and Emily are boring. If I wanted to watch them, I'd hang out with my married mates and their mother. I mean, they might make nice friends but they are not fun reality tv. Vinnie is there to be on tv. Conor is just crap, inside and out. No surprises that Abiola left for cash.

Eviction show was a bit of a trainwreck. Whoever dressed Mel needs to be fired. She is a very good presenter and quick off the mark - so I dont blame her for all those stumbles last night.

I have gone back to rewatch my faves on s10. There is such a stark difference. Housemates back then were playful. They made entertainment for themselves, dances, fake birthdays, dressing up. On this season Holly wanted the housemates to dress up and Conor cracked the shits because it was her idea and not Big Brothers order. They dont seem to do anything unless they are prompted. I rekon they are setting Emily up for the win because they have given her the most secret tasks and we hear more from her in the Diary Room than on the live stream. When doing a direct comparison, this season is lacking. But I am glad it is back and have had fun watching it. The budget is just extremely obvious and the younger housemates upbringing on tv and social media is obviously observed.

I wasn't surprised, but the MASSIVE fanfare for her eviction was a bit of a shock. That was a bit much by the audience. She's actually quite entertaining.

Abiola said "I can take cash and get away from these people? Say less." She didn't want to be there in the first place. I don't know why she even applied or how she was cast. But good for her for making some money.

I loved the cast of BB2023, even though it was a love theme. They were so fun. Considering how dull US, UK and now AU casts have been this year, I wonder if it's a societal thing? Or if producers just don't understand what makes these shows fun?
