I’ll try to get caught up today! I wish the US producers could admit how much better AU is. The fact that season 50 with all returnees is airing and I’m more excited to watch AU. Production on US just doesn’t get it.

HARD agree. We watched episode 10 last night. Immediately followed by US Survivor 50. And I stand by my previous statement that US Survivor is just not as compelling as AU. Having a few returnees on each tribe vs newbies who want to make a name for themselves is excellent drama.
I loved the bluff game. That was super fun. And that Brooke used a sob story about needing the (alleged) family reward to manipulate her opponent--all for a slice of pie! Excellent drama. It's what the hollywood execs don't get about these reality shows. In all the US reality shows, the producers try to influence the game and drama TOO MUCH whereas international producers know that excellent reality drama comes from the players themselves.
And I am glad they voted off Asha. She was annoying. Also loved the cut showing Asha helping Blanche find that idol only to be voted out with it.
Survivor 50 was a bore this episode. Sad for Mike Whites swan song to be about Zac brown. I fast forewarded through all the sing song along, not relevant to me or the game. The scramble was a bore, tribal was lackluster. The best bit was Charlie being thrown around like a rag doll by Jonathon and Aubry being... Aubry. Not a great ep. I had really been enjoying 50 until this.
I have been loving the whole season, but this week, even the haters couldnt hate. Its been great! Im enjoying the returning players showing off their experience. Its fun to see how their characters have learned and adapted to new tribes and the way they can still manipulate the game in their favour. Its also cool to see the strength of each character. Simon will probably never throw a challenge again in his life, despite it possibly being in his best interested, but he learned a lot after his first game! Even how to spell 😂 He really does have one of the best character growth stories out of any of the survivor AU players. Im really happy for him as hes a true blue aussie battler type. We also love an underdog, and I will not be surprised if Caleb gets to the final 3.
Its so entertaining when they set them up to be blindsided! I loved that whole episode, Aisha got to shine before she got extinguished. I really enjoyed the game play. They were SO cocky at tribal, its just so satisfying when they are so sure who is going to go and its flipped back on them with an idol. Brooke showed off her acting chops!

I agree, though I found the Zac Brown part better than I expected. At first, I thought it was so cheesy to have a day with a celebrity as a reward, but Zac was genuine and gave them a nice break from the stress. Still, I don't want more celeb shout-outs than we've had.
I am liking that the vote-outs are proving hard to coalesce. I think that's what happens when every player is an alpha. It's more interesting to have it be a battle all the way to tribal.
WOW! Survivor AU.
I just love Marks villain game. They are setting him up for a big fall but its FANTASTIC tv! How good was he at tribal! All those snarky lines AWESOME. Haha. I was so surprised that they went with Rich, rather than Ben, because Mark directly threatened Ben, but he must have clued in that Rich was the only one left of the newbies who had the brains to orchestrate another vote like that. A bit like the Cat vote, Mark noticed at the last minute who was clever enough to keep coming for him after tribal. Really great tribal. Newbies are DUMMIES! Caleb showing he still has a bit of fight in him, but he needs to keep those witts quiet so the retrunees dont target him.
Next ep will be edge of my seat as to who wins immunity, the numbers are iffy and if the newbies get their chance again they are going for the return players, unless they are very very silly. I love a villain and Mark is bringing it! Such a great group of return players, all have different strengths and together they could be unbeatable if they can manage the silly billies that are left. It was so smart of them to vote out anyone with half a brain, because its all brawn that is left now.

Survivor 50: I enjoyed Christian calling Ozzy a baby about his anger for being left out of the vote. He really is!

I don't like Rizzo, but I give him credit for managing to hang in there. I don't think he'll be able to use his idol as an endless threat like he did in 49, though. What's with the filler in the tribal section? Why did we need Jeff's impersonations? If they haven't got enough material, show more of something else!

It was better than the last episode, but whacky uncle Jeff is not my cup of tea.

I liked the double elimination in this episode. I think a bigger cast with more doubles (or even triple?) evictions would be fun. But it still pales in comparison to AU Survivor. I said that in a reddit thread and got downvoted but anyone who objectively watches both versions would agree. US producers have too many hands in the events of the season instead of allowing the cast to have control over the direction of the game. Yes, the cast votes people out, but all these stupid twists and sponsorships are ruining the integrity of the game.
Yes I liked the double too. Angelina vs Charlie were such a contrast! She left her jacket and love for them all, Charlie left bitter, in tears.

The aussie version is different, even simply because of air time. Its taking up 3 nights a week, so even I am surprised (and delighted) that they can keep the energy up for that many episodes. Keeping an audience engaged week after week is no mean feat! Plus the fact that episodes are not airing consistently, we have had nights changed and missed when soccer is on that timeslot instead. Our production teams dont get enough love. Reddit and the internet were ready to hate this season before it began. I'd be devastated if my work of art was trashed online like this was, before the start.
Survivor US is like a movie every week, while AU is like a soapy. It is harder to binge AU because it can drag with so many episodes, where as I can watch a whole US season in a weekend. Although I havent done that with new era/90minute eps. AU is made for water cooler talk.
Redemption has been top tier! A banger opening season for David. There are some characters, that if you love, you'll really really love, and if you hate, you wont rate. Like I love George even in his Brains Vs Brawn season, while others hate so much focus on him. Same vibes with Mark this season, I enjoy Mark a lot, while those who dont, hate his face on the screen.
I hope it keeps going, its all going to come down to channel tens budget in the end. Viewers have switched to streaming which hurts these free to air networks, but maybe with the cost of living stuff, people might re-engage with free to air, we can only hope! Its absolutely my favourite show on tv right now. And the family friendly version for people in that timeslot with kids who cant watch mafs.

There are 17 players left in Survivor US, and nine episodes, so they must be planning a lot more double eliminations! Unless a lot of them get taken out by a rogue wave or celebrity visit by Freddy Krueger.

Return seasons are a mixed bag, they got some of the best players that I want to see play, out early. Same happened in AU vs the World too. I miss Jenna haha. There are a number of "numbers" left who are just there.

Cirie has a big mouth... what is her plan? One of the most experienced players out there, she should know better, or she knows better than me. I am loving the Ozzy/ Cirie team up, they are adorable. Coach has a crush on Jonathon haha.
Applebees will forever remind me of Liz 😀 We dont have it here, so that is my only major link to it. Looks better than the AU reward of IKEA meatballs lol. Aw man this is rough seeing these old guys fall hard hurts. Great to see the women killin it!

I love the buff fashion, a bow is cute. Chrissy still on about the trauma and scars of the game, good to acknowledge but time to move on. "Mr Jeff"... Jonathon... dont. Better than Uncle Jeff I guess 🙁 OH, Kamilla! Killed by your magic words! From what I have seen of Chrissy this ep, I would have preferred her go, but I do hope that maybe this leaves room for Kamilla to come back yet again, where as its the end of the road for Chrissy.

This is something I really dislike about them splitting the merge group into small temporary tribes, that you get uneven strength, and uneven potential vote-outs. You notice that the tribe with four women and one man, won this challenge of small footholds, which women typically do better on. On one of the tribes, there was nobody I wanted to see go, on another a couple. It too often happens that players in these situations, that would not otherwise be targeted, get voted out, and that just seems sloppy and random.
I hated seeing Kamilla leave. I liked her in both of her seasons. I don't even remember Chrissy from her previous season and she hasn't made much of a splash this one. Just a "number," like you say. I also couldn't believe it came down to Colby vs. Coach for their vote-out, two dominant players. I also am not sure that voting with one group versus another is the big move that Jonathan thinks it is.
I was so disappointed they did not have a replay of Liz saying, "I'm pissed!" Classic Survivor moment! I see ads for Applebee's, but there aren't any near me.
Jeff really overdid the "blood moon" thing. Okay, they've never had three votes in one episode, but it wasn't some new twist. And lunar eclipses are not really that rare!
Fourteen left is still a big merge group. It will be interesting to see how that alters the dynamics.

I think Jonathon needs to lean into his "big, dumb galoot" persona, as that will get him farther in the game as a muscular threat. He clearly feels that didn't work for him last time, but he doesn't seem clever enough to scheme effectively.
I don't like Rizzo, but if I had to pick the winner right now, I'd bet he will be the one.
Agree. it lowers his threat level. He seems to be a nice dude, but not a big player.

Ugh Sally finding the half idol is the worst possible scenario. Lets hope it makes for good tv. There are not many Survivor players that I dislike more than Sally. I duno why, I really, really do not like her. And im pretty sure shes making it to the end.
Aw Brooke, this better be a misdirect, if you vote Keely I'll be putting your brutality score equal with Sam in Blood vs water! Although, who wouldnt want to sit next to Cam at the end, he is possibly more useless than Sally. An easy runner up.
Ikea reward again. Ikea is such a weird sponsor to have! I guess it does target the right demographic haha. A bed is better than booze and kfc at this stage too. Loz has been underrated as a challenge beast, in a couple challenges she was second to Simon. LOL Jackson has no rope experience and has tied himself up. Pocket rocket coming from behind.
