Reboot canceled likely too woke?

Look, Firefly was very well received back in the aughts. Dollhouse is a little weird, but it has its friends. Agents is ideally how Joss should be doing shows these days, putting his name on it, writing and directing the pilot, then passing it on to others. Like "Amazing Stories," only good.

The Nevers is a different story.

Season 7 of Buffy gave me an idea what a reboot would be like if it came back now, which after the sad deaths of Nicholas, Anthony and Michelle, would struggle to gain cameo spots for old stars. The focus on the Potentials, the end message, the glossier look, and a certain inconsistency in character motivations - plot seemed to drive the characters as much as the characters drove the plot, particularly Giles and Willow - made it seem more 'modern' than the other seasons.

Woke culture is all about virtue signalling, identity politics , gender bending, cancel culture, doxxing and political correctness and is powered by Marxist postmodernism, a philosophy that offers your truth and my truth but is adamantly against the idea of a truth that is independent of what people say. I don't support anything that is woke. One of the leaders of postmodernism had read that an Egyptian mummy had died of tuberculosis and said that this could not be the case because tuberculosis was a social construct and it had only existed for a few centuries. That kind of "logic" does not need to show up anywhere.

But it was not likely cancelled because it was too woke, it was likely cancelled because it was mediocre.

What a load of B S, a lot of this has been stirred up by cynical grifters online as they have there own agenda.

I remember on Twitter one of the Grifters called Jon De Aroz claim that male author's cant get published. A British Author Simon Scarrow called him out on that crap and even said he was writing a foward for a new male author as they speak. Aroz amazingly went silent and didn't respond.

These grifters lie you can't trust them

The whole point of Star Trek from (checks notes the 60s and then TNG from the 80s) was to show how Humanity had advanced and no longer needed things like money etc

So far off the mark its hilarious.
I am not on Twitter / X at all and I have no connection to the grifters you are talking about. All of the things I mentioned exist regardless of anyone's agenda. I see new books by male authors all the time. Don't get the idea that the Star Trek future is our future - there still has to be an accounting for the work people do and that accounting is done with money.

I see older Star Trek as diverse but not woke.

And I recall one of ST: TOS ep called The Savage Curtain there is a scene in which Uhura tells Lincoln that "in our century we have learned not to fear words." Constrast with those (typically who identify themselves as woke) who say "words are violence" and very much a reason to attack someone (sometimes literally).

Thanks for the reminder. I forgot that in the list of woke characteristics. I first heard that in university in 1969 and thought it was an odd way to look at life, but it was definitely the local student Marxists who championed that idea.
@thetopher nothing Iv said in that post is untrue. From the Twitter exchange which I witnessed to simply reading what Roddenbury aims were for Trek. Its all true

You basically quoted someone who said 'likely the Buffy reboot wasn't cancelled because of woke' and then said 'NU-UH Grifters said that, its not true!'

Basically you didn't read the post properly, which is what I was commenting on.

Btw- 'grifters' aren't exactly the problem when we're in historically bad times when it comes to bigoted leftist political messaging in media that is so bad its destroying that media; the publishing industry is just one such example.
At this point going after 'grifters' makes you a 'leftist' shill or maybe just plain ignorant.
